Does Index shipping ACTUALLY take that long?

I was considering buying the full kit, but according to this spreadsheet:

People have reported 8-12 weeks wait time. I would be back in school before mine arrived! Does it actually take this long to ship?

If that's what they say, probably yeah. This is what happens when demand exceeds production and available stock. Allegedly the Index got more popular than Valve expected 🤷‍♂️

that spreadsheet isn't accurate at all. Most people receive the full kit within 4/5 weeks, which ironically is also shown on there.

there is 1 problem though, corona spreading in the USA. This might impact the timeline 1/2 weeks. Never will exceed 8 weeks. There some special cases like Italy where they didn't deliver for 3 weeks.

I ordered a full kit the second they were back in stock on 9th march. It‘s been 7 weeks-ish now and I just paid for it two days ago. Shipping is currently prepared. Country is germany.

There is no safe way to tell how long it will take. It all depends on the developments of the pandemic.

I ordered the headset march 25th and it still says "ships after 8 weeks"

I am displeased of why we dont get information about this.
I do understand the COVID-19 situation, just dont give me false hope with 8 weeks that lasts longer. Just tell us that you wont be making any or something.
Have already mailed them 2 weeks ago, no information, just blabbering about ''have you read the FAQ?'' as if that helps.. -_-

Well imma make another mail to ask about information, i mean its redicilous..

Just got my "confirm payment" notification today after about 6 weeks since the last pre-order opened. I pressed the order button literally the second the option was available and got my order paid for today so yeah it really does take awhile..

Some people seem to be awfully lucky with their payments.

Ive been waiting about a month and a half. Still nothing. Still 8 weeks waiting time, never changed btw! Just to find out i have to wait even LONGER. Christ. I feel very betrayed.
