Any way to bind a keyboard button on the knuckles?
As the title says. Is there any way to bind a keyboard button to one of the inputs on the knuckles? I tried checking the controller binding options, and haven't found a way. Discord doesn't recognize any input from the controllers to bind push-to-talk to, and voice activation gets activated with quite a loud sound every time I adjust my headset, so I'd like to get push to talk working.

I made an app that does exactly this, specifically to control hotkeys in Discord 😅 You can find it here: OpenVR2Key[github.com]

Thanks, is this capable of mapping inputs to mouse keys as well? I'm having another issue which I'll probably make a separate thread for.

Right now it only simulates keyboard keys, I couldn't think of a reason to add mouse buttons, but maybe I should look into that 🤔

Right mouse click is absent from the knuckles, and it's incredibly useful for the contextual menus it gives you.

If it's working like in the past it should be mapped to your trackpad. At some point it was only the right side of the trackpad that had to be clicked, but I think they enabled it for the whole trackpad recently. This is if you're using the desktop overlays in SteamVR.

Thanks, I'll try that

any input to the trackpad simply scrolls whatever page I have open, it does not act like a right click, or open the contextual menu, sadly.

Even if you press down on it? 🤔 I get the scrolling but as soon as I depress it enough to get the haptic pulse it triggers a right click 🤷‍♂️

Oh, I was unaware of the additional input caused by pressing it harder. Yep, that works, thank you!

can you bind multiple keys with this app?

I think... up to 40 sets, and a set can contain any number of keys.
An advice from my side: Use VoiceBot.
I was able to trigger it via my HTC Vive back in 2018. Should also work with the current gen.
Just change the input mic from your desktop mic (e.g. Snowball) to your current HMD's mic.

And btw. you can script, program and do whatever you want for a combination of commands, keypresses and such with just calling for them.

VoiceBot is free (trial stuff, 14 or 30 days, don't remember), but I was able to get a free copy from the developers themselves, since I created a huge ass scripted profile for Ghost Recon Wildlands back then.
