Valve Index Headset

Anyone else having an issue with the adhesive tape under rubber gaskets on the lenses?
I use my index 2-8 hours a day 7 days a week.

I get it pretty warm playing games like until you fall lately and many others.

I've noticed lately that the rubber gaskets that run along the lens tubes and surround the lenses are starting to come away from the small strip of adhesive tape that keeps them in place.

This is, to be clear, is probably a pretty small issue with an otherwise stellar headset but it has me concerned a bit. I don't think the tape is explicitly necessary as they are somewhat form fitting anyway, but I'm worried about dust/sweat getting in there.

Any thoughts?

I now hold the lenses in place from the sides when I clean them, rather than push down. There will likely come a time when I'll be brave enough to dab some new glue under there or use one of those adhesive kits for cell phone repair.

Did you guys also got particles on the LCDs from that? I have black particles on the lens and I believe it could be some of the glue coming of and falling down inside and onto the LCD.
