Can a displayport extension work on the Valve Index?

I've tested 2 different display port extension cables now and I get random pixel flickering on both. Has anyone found a successful extension? I only need about 6 more feet.

So far it is working at 144hz with no issues.

Edit: Amazon says it'll arrive by the 30th... It wasn't on Prime annoyingly.

Significantly more expensive but for longer distances (10 metres) the following combination is working for me at 120Hz (have not tested 144Hz, YMMV).

I finally got this cable today and I can confirm it works! I'll mark this as the answer since it's the only one I've tested, but for others hopefully there're ones that work that are cheaper (and maybe on Prime).

I have trouble with the Displayport Gender Changer (female to female adapter). I tried a 8k DP 1.4 Cable (length) 5 meters and 3 meters and it didn't work. I guess the adapter is to blame. But there are only 2 diffrent available on Amazon and both don't say what version of DP they can handle.

I just bought a 3m male to female cable wich is sadly only DP 1.2 it works (on 144hz) but has some light snowy fragments and occasional short blackouts.

The best cable I tested so far is a DP 1.4 male to female from Club 3D. Sadly it's only available in 2 meter length. It works on 144hz with zero downsides so far.

BTW: I use a Geforce 1080 Ti. When I extended the cables of my Oculus rift I noticed that the output of my old GTX970 was not powerful enough and problems I had got solved magically when I upgraded my GPU.
