What USB devices should be listed?
Got my Index the other day and I've yet to be able to play anything on it for a variety of issues. Can someone please list what USB devices get installed with the Index, please? I have one device, "WinUsb Device" listed under "Universal Serial Bus Devices" in Device Manager that gives status as: "This device cannot start. (Code 10) A device which does not exist was specified."

This is a device that is related to the Index as it disappears as soon as I disconnect the headset. I've wiped/reinstalled all USB drivers with USBDeview and updated anything USB related for the motherboard, but I still can't get this one device to resolve.

Here is the USB tab of the SteamVR System Report:

Anyone else have the same device that doesn't enumerate? Anyone know what I SHOULD be seeing instead of this this WinUsb Device?

Hi! Did you ever find a solution to this? I have the same device/error listed in device manager.
My Index works fine so far, however I have to unintstall the audio device every single time I start SteamVR, otherwise the sound device does not work and I don't get any sound. Wondering if it's related...

I did get it resolved, but I don't remember the specifics other than it turned out to be an obscure driver conflict with another device. I think I literally uninstalled all of my USB peripherals, got Index working then re-installed my other devices until I found the conflict. Was a PITA.

I found a solution and detailed it to Steam Support.
The issue has returned and they won't let me see my old support ticket to know what to do.
I'm going insane because they could have helped me very quickly and easily.
And also could be telling others how to fix this same problem...

It's been so long now the best I can remember is the most important thing is to keep it plugged into my USB 3.1 ports in the back(red ones.)
I messed around with something in the .inf entry that was pointing to the wrong driver or location at one point. Although I can't remember specifically.
Definitely do NOT install the driver from windows update. That will cause a lot of problems.
You might need to check event logs and stuff like that to find the specific error that can tell you what exactly is going wrong.
Be very careful messing around with stuff like the driver store and driver.inf files. Always make backups and back up your windows install and make system restore points.

The following procedure was provided to me by Steam Support and I am happy to say that so far, it works!

1. Restart your computer and plug your Index into a USB 2.0 port.
2. Power cycle your Index; Remove the AC connection for 30 seconds.
3. Reset your SteamVR USB devices from Menu (3 lines) > Developer > Developer Settings > In the 'Reset' subsection, click 'Remove all SteamVR USB Devices'.
4. Disable Windows Enhanced Power Management for SteamVR devices from the same menu by clicking on "Disable Power Management."
5. Shut down SteamVR.
6. Restart your computer
7. Reconnect your VR equipment to USB 3.0+ ports, start SteamVR and retest the issue.
