i imagine its going to be a pain. which is annoying. oculus did a great thing putting two audio jacks on the quest. can use headphones and haptic vest at the same time and one port doesnt disable the other.
one solution could just be to have the haptic vest plugged in and then also use headphones. since i have the razer nari ultimate haptic headphones too, but i was looking forward to have the off the ear effect with the index headphones. edit - just tested the nari over the index, and like the vive audio strap they just dont fit around the speakers on the headset. though at least on the index it looks like the speakers completely come off and dont leave a bump that gets in the way like the vive das. so removing the index speakers and just using the nari is an option. not my prefered option though
i wonder if theres a wiring diagram available anywhere, since they are releasing cad files of the headset, they might release those too.
Have you had any success pluging in your headphone to the index's aux output? When I plug in my headphones (Bose QC), the jack is not long enough to make solid contact with the output port.
My Subpac M2x has Bluetooth functionality, but you can pick up tiny aux to bluetooth dongles that still do the trick for fairly cheap, they are tiny too so can easily be strapped to a belt or put in a pocket. Pair that with your computer's bluetooth dongle, and then mirror the audio in your SteamVR settings.
This is what that looks like for me in settings.

Works flawlessly... as long as your batteries allow it ;)
Use VoiceMeeter.Plug Woojer in index usb frunk, then PC can found the Woojer soundcard, make sure set to 8ch.
Then set VoiceMeeter playback device to 8ch,then set VocieMeeter output A as Index Radio and B as Woojer/Subpac.As this setting, you can use your Woojer with 8ch and use Index radio or aux output port on Index. It's no deley problem.
In fact,as this setting, you can use FOUR audio device at same time.Just mirror VoiceMeeter VAIO to other audio device as third. And use Woojer/Subpac output port to other headset as four.
And,VR with 8ch woojer sound haptic is really amazing!Very postive!
Can you let me know which cable you found to fit?
I noticed that Valve added support now to both output audio to the Index' off-ear drivers, as well as the 3.5 aux port at the same time.
It works flawlessly with my Woojer Vest. However, I can't find a proper cable, which fits, and allow the face-gasket to be reattached.
Most cables are too thick, the angled ones I tried are too short and won't plug in. Ahhhh xD
Pretty sure it was this one, https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/224031871796?hash=item3429571334:g:gKYAAOSwNJNfM4yO
i'll post a photo of it connected so you can see it fits

and thanks for the heads up about the dual audio output support now. I knew it would be possible, dont know why it wasnt from the beginning...
Hey thanks for the link and pictures! That looks like a good fitting solution!
In the meantime, I tried Logitech's "BT-W2" Bluetooth adapter, which explicitly supports aptX Low Latency. Which is crucial - otherwise the standard Bluetooth lag will kill the experience.
I mirror the audio in the Steam VR settings to this Logitech adapter, which is connected with my Woojer Vest.
It works and I can just barely notice a longer latency than with cable.
Maybe I will try the cable solution once more though.
In the description of the vest it says you have to max the volume to get the best results. If you mirror the sound there isnt an option for that i guess? Does it work good?
