Intel i7 9700K Compatible?

Forgive my ignorance, for I do not have a vast knowledge of computer hardware. Is the Index compatible with an Intel i7 9700k processor? The Index site lists it as needing a processor with hyperthreading, and the 9700k does not have hyperthreading. My brother keeps telling me to go with an 9700k over a 8700k, but I don't want to get the former if it will not support the headset

The GPU is usually the constraint. I have a GTX 1060 6GB in a laptop. It's "decent" and good enough with the 1060, but not "awesome" since I have to set some games to lower gfx levels. I had a Vive before, and have no regrets upgrading to the Index.

I dont actually have the computer yet, so I can't run the test. I am planning on using an RTX 2070 though. Would an i7 9700k and rtx 2070 work fine?

The site says a DUAL core with hyper threading. Your 8 core 9700k will be more than enough to play vr on

Unfortunately it's in german since google sent me there but if you look for the english documentation it will state the same facts..

Hyperthreading is only in the requirements because it's with the bare minimum CPU required. A dual core would need it since it's only a dual core. A quad core (like the 9700k) is far past the minimum and would not need it because it's already got enough threads/cores.
There is zero chance the Index wouldn't work with a CPU that good.

The minimum specs require dual core + hyperthreading (4 threads minimum). The 9700K has 8 physical cores / threads. That's double the minimum requirement.
