How to cap framerate?
my game breaks with my monitor being at 144hz even with Vsync as it locks it to my refresh rate. Is there a way without setting my monitor to 60, to lock the game to 60?

The game is naturally limited to 80 FPS, the only thing I can think of search on moddb for a mod that unlocks the FPS, this might help by allowing it to match the monitor refresh rate. I know a mod exists for that but can't remember what it's called.

I don't think there is a limit to the FPS, I get a few hundred in single player and multiplayer is server side.

I forgot this was the Battlefront 1 2004 forum.
In which case, I don't know.

I get 144 fps consistently and it causes some issues that didn't happen when i had a 60 fps monitor. Is there maybe a file i can change or is it not that easy lol

You might try messing with the launch parameters:

/noframelock
/tps 60 (or another number that satisfies you)
/fixedrate (no idea what this does but it sounds relevant)

Thanks for the help guys, for some reason all of these options just dont effect the game, it still runs 100+ fps. Normally this would be a great thing but the sound files are looping like crazy with this excess of FPS.

This game has issues even if Vsync is turned on. The issues with this game (which many games from the era have now) are tied to both framerate and monitor refresh rate.

Vsync will cap out the framerate at 60 which is probably the best compromise of performance and issues. The rest of the issues that dont get resolved can probably be fixed by turning your monitor refresh rate to 60hz or 75hz, but it definitely is disappointing.

Source: upgrading monitors hit me with various issues as well, no way around it.

Vsync locks my frame rate to 144 because i have a 144hz monitor. Probably just gonna deal with the sound glitches because they arent game breaking.

The vsync option in the ingame options menu locks it to 60. I have a 144hz monitor as well.

You can use the AMD or Nvidia software to limit the refresh rate in any game.
