STAR WARS™ Battlefront (Classic, 2004)

Vehicles spin really fast help me
Whenever I try to drive or I see a vehicle moving, it spins around uncontrollably. V-sync is on i still get like 300 frames in game, pretty sure thats its broken. Any ideas?

If you have a high refresh rate on your monitor, please try capping it or your frame rate on your graphics card.
This thread on GOG sheds some light on it: https://www.gog.com/forum/star_wars_battlefront/crouch_not_working_windows_10_1803

It says crouch but it may help your issue as well.

I haven't read that thread (sorry if I'm repeating things already said) but you can also do /fixedrate <your desired fps> in launch options

I forgot there was a command too - same idea

I have a monitor that's set to 180FPS, but whenever I do something like "/fixedrate 60" in launch options, it actually speeds up my game. Meaning pages load faster, in-game speed is much faster, all units are walking at high speeds, etc.

I was hoping of finding a way to limit my FPS for this game specifically without having to force-limit my monitor to 60 for everything.

Do vehicles glitch out at 180 FPS? You could try setting it to that

Yeah they glitch out at 180FPS. I find it odd the lower "/fixedrate" is, the faster the game speeds up. lol.

This game was made in 2004. I'm going to take a shot in the dark and say the engine really couldn't be tested at that high of a framerate

Spinning vehicles is a side effect of using /noframelock, turn that off if you are using it.

If you're using an NVIDEA graphics card just go in the control panel and set vsync to half refresh rate and turn off vsync in game. Should work fine after that. Probably works on amd as well.
