Why play this over classic Battlefront II?

I already have the classic Battlefront II, is this one really any better?

I think its because this is a complete focus on infantry combat rather than space/jedi. So its more focused. The maps were better as well.

I like it better. The maps are definitely a lot more interesting, but you can get them in the second game with the conversion pack mod so that's not a big deal. The big things for me are 1. The combat is simply more enjoyable than Battlefront 2. It's not as unnecessarily fast-paced and the weapons actually do a reasonable amount of damage. Overall it feels more like a big battlefield shooter rather than the ridiculous style of Battlefront 2 where everyone is sprinting and rolling and juking around the map to avoid being shot, and the weapons do next to no damage without War Hero anyway. And 2. The presentation is just so much more interesting. The whole game has this awesome holographic look, and the menus and loading screens have some really cool animations. Even some of the music selections are better, and the soldiers and announcers have better dialogue. I'd say it's definitely worth it for 10 bucks or less. I for one will probably end up playing it more than the second one now that it's on steam, unless I feel like playing Galactic Conquest or on some of the mod maps in Battlefront 2. Space and Jedi are extremely repetitive and overrated anyway.

I actually like both. Still playing both on PS2 sometimes when i feel like it but i must admit this one has better maps and better AI for some reason. 2 is great aswell tho!

Honestly I'm just going to buy it because I haven't played it in 14 years or so, it's a pretty basic version of BF2 Classic, but with first gen clones and some interesting locations to play on

Jedi in SWBF1 are inferior because you can’t play as them and they’re also invincible. Vehicles are too strong because infantry don’t have any effective means to avoid them without sprint.

thing is i pretty much have every star wars game except the new 2 because i sold them lol i have this game on disc and the mods are magnificent im in a clan on this and bf2 we do tdm and all sorts tbh but if you would rather have jedi (you can get a mod to play as them in this) in the cantina then be my guest but if you want more (imo this game is easier to mod) and also this game isnt going to die then yeah get this but if you are fine with bf II then yeah you get the picture just look at the reviews because some people go onto much further detail (dont have that much time) but i give this game a 10/10

I like both, but I play Battlefront 1 more for several reasons:
1: Aesthetics: I like the graphics of BF1 better and how local teams are colored in yellow so they're easier to spot. I also prefer my team to be green as opposed to blue.
2: Doesn't crash my computer. (the patch for BF2 didn't do anything)
3: AT-AT's can house 2 players instead of just one (why did the devs think that was a good idea?)
4: BF2's heroes are OP (I know 1 million hitpoints + 1mil heal is OP too, but BF2's jedi and sith are meat grinders)
5: Temuera Morrison voices all the clones
