Strange feeling
I finished the game and...

I just think that the f:cozypoewitch:ather was a p*do and this game glorified that with Irwin saying "their love was pure" and etc. DUDE. SHE WAS 16 AND PREGNANT.
PREG NANT
No ♥♥♥♥
I played this game knowing this but its just MAP propaganda.
Glorified a adult getting a child pregnant for no apparent reason, they didnt even explain why WHY this obssesion, and in the end, Nicole who was upset about that THING, now accepts it....
Cool. :cozypoewitch:

Yeah, I don´t like the fact that no one seemed to care about that fact that he knocked up 16-year-old child who trusted him. I mean - they hated him because he was cheating and that she "killed" herself but no one brought up how creepy that was. Pure love my ass.

You have the meaning of pedophilia wrong. Pedophilia is a sexual preference for pre-puberty children. Rachel is 16. While being underage and that certainly being problematic in a way it has nothing to do with pedophilia. There is a different term for young adolescent people, ephebophilia. Wikipedia: "Ephebophilia is the primary sexual interest in mid-to-late adolescents, generally ages 15 to 19." That applies to Rachel.

But even that isn't necessarily applicable here because that describes a general and "primary" sexual orientation toward such people. This is never implied in the game. Leonard is only shown in love with this one girl and it is never stated that he wasn't in love with and attracted to his wife. It is not even that important to the story whether she is 16 or just turned 18.

There's also the so called age of consent, which is 16 in Montana, where the game takes place, meaning that if Rachel is consenting to having a relationship and sex with Leonard, it's completely legal.
It being legal does not mean it's not gross and disturbing for this game to condone...

I agree. I felt quite repulsed by that aspect. I wish we had a neutral vote.
I loved the first half of the game, then I started saying...no.. don't let it that.

I guess it's a matter of perspective? When imagining I'm Rachel's mom I would surely be worried. I wouldn't want her to be with a much older man (especially not an already married one). But when imagining I'm Rachel that would be a totally different thing. Especially in that age girls like the maturity of older men, which 16 year old boys often can't provide. All in all my stance is: If it's consensual, it's okay. From all we know Leonard wasn't a predator, he really liked and cared about her, and Rachel liked him back.

Yes, it is, but in my world, there is no way a 16 year old should be with a 46 year old man.

1. being legal doesn't make it morally rigth
2. Leonard very much could love everyone, BUT he still made rachel, a 16 years old, pregnant WHILE being married.
3. Rachel had troubled in learning or etc, Leonard was her teacher or something.... That is disgusting cauze he is abusing power. The time he gets alone with her is too much, sufficient to "make her love him"

Im not saying that rachel's love could be fake, but still it is bad and the game condone that.
The 50 old man got pregnant the 16 old girl, younger that his daugther.
The brother of such girl really put him in a pedestal and obssesed about her as much as the 50 old.
The protagonist had this mission and its noble. Discovering things and meaning is noble. BUT just because there was "love" you cant change 360° the facts that there was more than one crime. You can just love n forgive your father who was a cheater and got pregnant a child, neither you cant just forgive your mother who killed such child.
MY english is so broken, I tried to take every one of your points. Im sorry, im just so upset that I brougth this game

Same. Entering the attic, taking in what I've seen and been told to so far - I had to take a step back from the game and have a 'wtf moment' by myself. I'm usually not one to yell SJW- [or insert whatever] propaganda when it comes to game themes, nor do I mind taboo topics. But when something like this gets slid in and no one in the game seems to bat an eye, on the contrary you get lines like that from Irving, yea I couldn't help but be like 'hold up'. It's just weird to me that they didn't seem to consider how that would be taken in by the player. Also the fact that Rachel had an actual learning disability that made her an outsider amongst her peers, and then some good samaritan comes up and offers her tutoring only to end up screwing her and then be like 'she was wise beyond her years'.. that was disgusting.

Also btw.. comments like @VaniKa's (no offense) ..but I don't give a damn that there a different terms for people that want to screw toddlers, kids or teens. Or the classic 'age of consent' remark.

The game is following laws from it's state, in the UK the legal age of consent is 16. You can drink at 18 as well. Some places in Scotland you can drink at 14 and drive at 12. It's more of your opinion from familiarity of your laws than it being illegal.
The game still has some plot holes that need to be filled though. It felt rushed about halfway through.

But dude .... Legal doesnt mean that its right.
In my country you can murder or steal from someone while being underage and set free, like multiple times. That`s not good of course.

My point, why Rachel, a 16 years old, had to get pregnant and then murdered. She could be 18 and rachel a little more and it would be less creepy. But no, 16 and the man who got her pregnant was a 50 years old married man who teaches her how to speak prop. Her teacher, someone she had to rely on almost every day.

Its creepy and disgusting.
The history has a mayor plot hole.

that "pedophile" isn't the right word for attraction to adolescents is the least relevent thing ever argued in any argument ever.

He is called a pedophile in the game once, and it is disconcerting, though also, this didn't seem to alarm people as much in the late 80s early 90s as it does today, too.

I honestly think she's just shattered that it was her mother who did it, and she definately *cracks* at the end. It's *not* a happy ending, she just doesn't care anymore

Maybe in an ideal world but this does happen a lot so is quite realistic in that respect. In fact a lot of celebrities do it and it's romanticised in glossy magazines.

Doug Hutchison and Courtney Stodden
Jerry Seinfeld and Shoshanna Lonstein
Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith
Steven Tyler and Julia Holcomb

There's too many to name and that's not even mentioning well known stars who had relationships with girls of 16,17 while mid twenties and upwards, including Chad Michael Murray, Kobe Bryant, Milo Ventimiglia, Joel Madden, Prince, Paul Walker

Like I say, it's not an ideal thing but it is realistic that it does happen and the game didn't romanticize it.
