If that means i miss out on an achievement, who cares.
I play games for the story/gameplay, not for achievements.
The problem is the only ONE ending is achieved as ending. Description of "All together" told us that this is a way to complete the game. Its mean than if we saved Nicole we failed because no achivment for it.
PS: i don't care about achievements, but isn't this situation is weird?
Well, the dev seems to believe that realizing that your mother killed the 16 girl her husband was banging means that you will go insane and commit suicide. 10 years after the fact, despite both your parents being dead by then.
You could come clean; inform the police about the unsolved murder (not a suicide) and clear the names of all involved. No. Just kill yourself.
That was dumb man. Even after 9 days relying on a guy who turns to be a psycho-suicidal stalker, and his own suicide, this "suddenly I break completely and kill myself" is a stretch.
The protagonist was not responsible at all; how would she jump to the conclussion that her mother was a murderer? And what should have she done, even if she knew... send her mother to life in prison or even death penalty? Damn, murder is the gift that keeps on giving.
Also, apparently the fine folks of the local police reached the conclussion that Rachel commited suicide, or at least that was the official version. A coroner must have ruled that she died from SELF-INFLICTED HOCKEY STICK BLOWS. Let that sink in for a moment.
I must admit that you are right in all. Suicide and hockey stick do not mix well...especially with the medical conclusion^^'
The wounds would be post-mortem, therefore they would hardly bleed at all and there would be no swelling. There would be two sets of wounds, one of them which bled profusely - and internally - after cracking bones, and another set of wounds that didn't, despite causing severe fractures (as falling from a cliff would).
I mean, it would look the same TO ME, to a coroner foul play would be obvious.
I mean, it's a game. However it's just kinda... dumb that the weapon of choice would be a hockey stick instead of say, being strangled with a rope, something you could (somewhat poorly) try to obscure as a suicide. Probably smashing her head with a rock would be logical if you later try to pass it as a suicide-by-defenestration. A hockey stick is unwieldy as ♥♥♥♥ and unlikely to cause a quick death. Now, using the stick of your own daughter becomes really, really stupid. Leaving the dental apparatus of your victim in your car inside a blanket soaked with your victim's blood is even more stupid.
Leaving that car in a hotel you want to SELL, expecting that nobody is going to open the trunk of the car they found in their new property... despite having 10 years to get rid of all of it...
Come on.
As a matter of fact, I love Disco Elysium :P
Well, this explains the increased demands to storyline's quality. That part that affects the killing, at least. But maybe this case is gone to the hands of Hobo-cops with 1 point of intellect and they don't have 57th the best? xD
