The Shining references
I mean, the 90% of the game so far i've played looks like the movie.
C'mon guys not a single comment about that in this forum.

I agree. I'm on day 5 and this game reeks of The Shining.. So far:

Timberline? King wrote the book in the hotel the Timberline Lodge
One part of the hotel is called Overlook..
The carpet is the exact same carpet from the movie
The kitchen with the pantry and the freezer, don't need further explanation, I guess? And the achievement? Freeze to death..
Room 217
The intertitles; Day 1, Day 2 etc are identical to the movie
"Being alone in this hotel all winter is enough to drive you nuts.. Danny, Wendy! Wth are you doing?!" ..
The axe is missing from the wall.. I'm beginning to await a boss fight with an axe wielding maniac lol

I figured nobody mentioned it due to the fact it was so blatantly obvious, It would be like pointing out that the sky is blue or the sun is hot.
The Timberline lodge is where they shot the exterior for the Overlook in the Kubrick movie, the Overlook in the novel was inspired by the Stanley Hotel after King stayed there. Also the carpet isn't the exact same but definitely inspired by the movie, as are the interiors in general, with the native american patterns in the rugs, the wagon wheel chandeliers, the red bathroom etc. Another reference could be the memory of the christmas/new year's party, with even similar music to the Gold Room scenes in the movie. The day numbers could also be a reference to Firewatch.
