Who else thinks this game killed the Wolfenstein franchise, and is the reason why Wolfenstein 3 was placed on the back burner?

Also when Wolf 3 does finally get released. not very optimistic about how good it will be after Youngblood and their full on girl boss route.

I think the sisters laughing and joking when they are killing people ruined the tone.

But this same woke Marvel esque tone is also a thing in other big flops.

Just picked up Wolf 2 having avoided it since release because I heard it was Woke. It was kind of but more of just dabbled in it. What I've heard and seen about this one though all I can say is "This modern audience, are they in the room with us now?"

Judging by how poorly this game sold. No.

Since the game was catered to the "modern audience" If they existed on mass or as the majority. This game would have very positive reviews and have sold as much as the main Wolfenstein games...

Honestly, now having played it for 9 hours, it is legitimately better than Wokenstein 2: The New Praise for Communism. Sisters are no where near the levels of cringe I was lead to believe and the gun play is superior. RPG elements are a blast and the soundtrack is where it's at. I've avoided both this, and 2 due to internet word of mouth. I can safely say this is not the worst entry, 2 is. I haven't been going at a Wolfenstein entry this hard since The New Order.

IF you did not skip the cutscenes theres no way you can deny it in Wolf2, its so obvious, way more so than Youngblood, i guess its not on modern SBI levels but its pretty bad especially for the time, if you don't think so at least don't pretend like you don't like it.

2 is great gameplay wise, better than New Order, as long as you skip the cutscenes, as a package as much as id like to put it above Youngblood its hard to justify, I think many people just tuned out after 2 as soon as they heard this wasn't like Old Blood and fair enough I don't blame them at all.
I wonder if the Wolfenstein franchise should be considered one of the few major pre-SBI failures due to wokeness.

I find it beyond hilarious how many of these new gen boomer shooter guys had to justify their complete 180 on Duke Nukem in just a few short years, and these people expect to be taken seriously on anything lmao

First couple of hours of two was awful and boring, then Grace got introduced and it was all downhill from there. Ending was total joke. How ironic the team made this game to "Give it to Trump" the way the portrayed Hitler and look what's in office now lmfao. Wolfenstein 2 I feel did not have better gameplay over The New Order. Whole time I was playing it I thought "I could be playing TNO" Wolfenstein 2 is the worst entry. I'm almost at 12 hours in Youngblood now and not stopping any time soon. No commie crap, just pure Nazi killing with RPG elements that I like.

Old Blood was okay, just a bit slow which is why I'm enjoying Youngblood the second best in the new franchise, though I would rank the 2009 entry higher on the list.

2009 was the best, obviously the gameplay is a bit dated compared to the newer games but putting that aside or if they were to faithfully remake them with new tech it and RTCW ♥♥♥♥ all over the Machine Games. Microsoft needs to give 09 back already.

I'm glad I grabbed the '09 when I did. I always loved the '09 entry with its small open world, upgrades, lots of that drive to explore.

Actually the solution for Wolfenstein 3 is pretty simple, Machine Games just have to make a new one that follows the story right after the events of The New Colossus and make Hitler the new enemy with new villains as well.

They simply have to act as if Young Blood never happened by just ignoring the hell out of it, such a bad game requieres a simple solution.

Ignoring side game that was considered canon, is not good solution though.
One thing that I actually liked about Machine Games remake is that it's one continuous story rather than constant re-imagination of the game like id Software always does.

Youngblood is certainly not best Wolferstein game, but I take it for what it is, and I'm expecting the third game to follow up on this story, to find and disable the doomsday device.
Also from what I've read, some of the devs mentioned something about Mecha-Hitler, thus apparently there was some progress on Strasse's project even after his death.

There is however no question that while twins could play some significant role in the story of the 3rd game, people are expecting to have B.J. Blazkowicz as main protagonist for the majority of the game.

I love this game. There's so much hatred for this game, seemingly mostly from cis-het white males, which doesn't surprise me. Just get over it and move on.

Game was literally made for you. And look where it ended up.

Maybe us "cis het white males" = better quality product that please more people is the answer. Afteral my demographic were the originators of the videogame industry and built it up.

I actually thought Young Blood was incredibly fun with a friend back when I played it on gamepass. I was going to replay it with another friend recently, but the game would just crash whenever he picked new game from the menu accepted an invite from me. It's areal damn shame. Not sure how to fix it on his end.

I honestly didn't really care of the story much in any of these reboots and found them hard to take seriously, even New Order. I'd love to see a more horror focus reboot. Think the opening hours of Return to Castle Wolfenstein, but mixed with Resident Evil 7.
