Are thoses crates openable ?

Are thoses balck and red crates openable ? If yes, how ?

Yes they are. The easy way is to use "crush" and either jump on them or sprint. Just don't try to do it with a hammer weapon in your hand. Most crate's do open with a grenade, crush, electro craft work weapon, laser, shoot or crush the wooden one's. The red n black box open with a code found on the 5 1/4" grey floppy disk you'll find.

Only those red n black box are part of the collectable's, the others don't hold much value, a few coins, armor, health, ammo.

Wow, thanks, I just didn't think about the crush. The particular skin of the care made me think it was openable, but I couldn't figure how :P

yeah those crates and the wooden one's open with a lvl 1 crush. nazi's explode like tomato's at lvl 4 crush. try using crush from above on a nazi or those skinny mech bots and watch what happens. I laugh my ass off. you got more questions or you want to coop, come find me.

I did not even know that THESE are crushable. Generally crates have a specific sign that you need to shoot with a specific weapon to open them on the side where the sign is. Then wooden crates I saw someone open with crush in COOP but these one I did not know.

The accepted answer is misleading because it does not tell you this specifically about the sign, on them. There are also doors that you open with the weapons you unlock later.

There's a laptop computer tutorial near the beginning that details the crates that are crushable.

And of course I just skipped all of those tutorials and discovered at level 40+ that you can crush them. I refuse to read instructions!

with 1 crush bought they sometimes explode.

These crates don't open for me. Trying to crush them doesn't work. Do I need to totally max out the crush ability?
Using grenades doesn't do anything either. Nor does shooting them. I have tried everything and nothing works.

There are crate that look almost like thoses one, but you need the electric gun (can't rememeber the real name) to open them.
Maybe you're confusing them ?

The one's in Lab X is what I can't open.
Now that I look more at that picture in the first post, it might not be the Lab X one after all.

Yeah, could be I have that mixed up with the Lab X crates (with the Lab X skull logo on them). It's the Lab X crates that I can't open / crush.

There is a symbol on the non wooden crates that tell you what gun will open them. As others said. Some need a code I think.
