WHAT??!! Can't Continue a Saved Game
I've played for hours and am still in the Zeppelin mission, searching for General Winkler. So I came back the next day and started the game in Steam, clicked CONTINUE, then was presented with HOST GAME (which still has my offline choice), then clicked START GAME. It takes me all the way back to the beginning scene with the sisters and the two folks operating on some guy. I went to the SAVE SLOT option and it shows my correct hours played and % complete, but it won't start there at the last checkpoint. What am I doing wrong to get back into the game? Any suggestions (including to shoot myself for missing something obvious) would be most welcome. I've never seen a game I couldn't enter where I left off. Thanks in advance...

Did you finish that level ?

unfortunately the "save" points are quite ways apart, you have to finish the first level for it to remember progress.

Wow, that's crazy! So I have to leave the computer on and the game paused until I finish the entire level before it saves. Unreal! But thanks to both of you for taking the time to let me know.

There is no pause exactly, but if you find yourself a corner that's as good as pausing.

Its the one thing in the game that bugs me - no saves. If you die you have to go back to start again. I have just been up the tower trying to get the 2 keys for ages and think I have restarted at least 6 times.. Got all the way to the roof and that big robot kicks hell out of me every time.
Wish they had just used the old save system

Me too, Mcflack. I can't take this at my age. I hate to waste 30 bucks, but i'm uninstalling the game and giving it to my son. I don't have the time nor energy to start over and over again. Good luck progressing ...

its insanly hard even on easy, if you are too low level, and you need to re-spect your weapons to deal with bosses with the kind of armor they have, identify the weak spot is paramount here, dont waste ammo on the main body, time it with ypur friend to destroy the robot's backpack or at least one arm

Character progression is saved, but area progression is reset if you exit to menu/desktop.
Just like many other co-op shooter games.

How could you play 30 minutes intro for hours?

Bethesda seems to think it's great fun to replay a level over and over.

But don't worry. You can buy boosters for real money to make the grind less painful.

The "restart at a boss" booster is still missing. So you still need to run through the whole level again.

I am level 40 and I am afraid I will hit maximum level too fast, don't see any problem with enemies as they scale to you.

As far as I know, there is no max level! Please correct me if I'm wrong.

If one likes over the top grinding gameplay that might be true. But if you only have a limited amount of gameing time each week (= full-time work), you may not.

Totally agree, that may be a deal-breaker for me. I'm not always going to have a couple of hours to burn, just to make sure I can get through a whole mission, just to get my progress saved.
