Even with dynamic resolution scaling, it'll probably look like a blurry mess at 30 frames per second.
PC usually doesn't support split-screen. Demanding such a thing, is just weird these days.
Sure, on console it would fit much better - but split screen coop is usually not a thing on PC, as it's associated with playing on the same setup, which in turn would be fairly weird on PC these days. It was real easy when it was just WASD for one person and arrow keys for another person.
...but once the mouse got involved; it pretty much faded away on PC - for good reason - having a multi-keyboard and multi-mouse setup would not make sense. Usually played on smaller screens as well, so it would be fairly cramped.
But as said; for consoles it would work just fine.
There is a lot of games that sill have split screen. Now even excluding games that exclusivly need coop and therefore splitscreen i dont see why you would need to create the problems where there are already solutions. I dont know if you heard of controllers? The weirdly shaped hunks of plastic that have a lot of clickable places all over? Yeah ppl tend to use these for second player. Especially on pc. You could go just on steam and type in splitscreen category and there is a lot and i really mean a lot of games that have that for pc. Those that dont but are moddable there are in some cases mods for split screen. Well... there are games that ppl want split screen here but its just lost fight because you cant mod it nor the devs implemented it. I and many other players still like the idea of splitscreen. For example. My sister lives far away with no time to play. But whenever she visits me we like to sit on a couch and play some splitscreen. Or when i have friends over for a meetup. Thats also viable. Splitscreen is not talked about much but still enjoyed by majority of gamers. Its just that it was such a common thing like using a mouse for fps that at some point we forgot to ask where it went

Split screen is perfect for 4K tvs since with 4 players everyone gets a 1080p display.
Also, i feel like a game like Youngblood would benefit from split-screen on all platforms due to its co-op focused gameplay. (Maybe make such a feature exclusive to PC/PS4 Pro/X1X?)
As for split-screen on PC, it would likely require a custom solution so as to enable multiple keyboard/mouse support similar to Serious Sam Fusion.
Otherwise, the easy solution for split-screen (which most local co-op games will use) is Player 1 uses kb/m, Player 2 uses controller (This is how Resident Evil 6 did its split-screen on PC)
Sorry, but it's not weird. I have 4 controllers wirelessly paired with my computer and play multiple pc games, classic and new alike, with splitscreen. Consoles are essentially computers, albeit computers you can't fully upgrade. There is nothing weird for people to want to enjoy coop, especially since HDMI had made it more common for people to connect their PCs to televisions in their living rooms (hence steam big picture mode).
It's classic opinion overriding fact. ;) Plenty of us utilized multiple controllers and play in our living rooms with friends and family.
