GOD MODE
Can this game be played in god mode? I have absolutely no idea of what to do? No amount of shooting seems to bring down a soldier or robot. I have emptied 4 clips and he simply just doesn't die. I have walked along countless streets trying to reach my objective and never made it, either because I died or obstacles. I have reached the catacombs more from good luck than good management and I'm on the easiest settings. All previous Wolverstein were satisfactorily finished. Each attempt lasts more than an hour and still wait for the automatic save, off course by that time I'm dead. The only way I can get any satisfaction on this game is to put my fist through the monitor. I would love to meet the game designer and ask him what the ♥♥♥♥ did he do wrong. Why couldn't it be left as a FPS only
I bought the game code, then was downloaded from Bethesda and I can't even play in co-op. Somehow I'm unable to even add it to steam. As I said ♥♥♥♥ if I know what to do

Hmmm. If you don't seem to be doing much damage to enemies, are you sure you're using the correct weapons?

I remember from my playthrough that there was a tutorial somewhere telling you about enemy "Barriers" and how to counteract them, using weapons that match the symbol to their barrier.

||||| - Light Barrier
[] [] [] - Heavy Barrier

The former can be countered by the Machine Pistol/Machinenpistole, Shotgun/Kugelgewehr, and SMG/Blitzgewehr.

The latter can be countered by the Assault Rifle/Sturmgewehr and Pistol. Though fighting robots you probably want to use heavier ordnance or stronger output weapons like the Laserkraftwerk once you acquire them.

Also, there are ways to score faster kills on enemy heavy armor/"Big" Robots like Panzerhunden and Zitadelles. Panzerhunden have fuel tanks in their torsos you can shoot and destroy lickety split to make them stumble, and I believe busting all three (I believe they have three? It's a while) will kill them regardless of their health meter.

Zitadelles can be best disabled by concentrating fire on their arms. If you blast off both arms, they will also die regardless of health. This can also be replicated with Ubersoldaten as well, gib both of their arms and they'll go down regardless of HP.

Hopefully I managed to figure out the big problems, because I don't think you're having a problem with run of the mill grunts like Neosoldaten, Soldaten and Gestapo Soldaten.

To add to the above post, the Laserkraftwerk, Laserhammer, and Uberhammer will also work on heavy barrier enemies, while the dieselkraftwerk, elektrokraftwerk, kugelhammer, and dieselhammer all work on light barrier enemies.

Zerstorers can also be disabled by taking down both arms. Bombenhunden will gib if you shoot the dynamite strapped to them (the dynamite will also explode if you shoot it on their corpse if you didn't gib them).

Thanks guys for your input. I'm still having trouble trying to analyse the barriers. I'll keep studying them. As for the Laserkraftwerk I've seen them but unlike previous W/games I'm unable to pick them up. I haven't come across as heavy duty weapons and against a robot what I have is useless. I'll keep out a look out at the dynamite strapped to them.
I'll cautiously approach the game again--thanks guys

The ability to pick up the heavy weapons is now something that you have to unlock in the character tree. This game is more like an RPG so you have to level up your character, your weapons and so on.

you have to unlock in the character tree.----------aha OK thanks
F.Ultra 2 MAR 2020 a las 11:50
Yeah they have gone the RPG route, press J and there you find "character" and "weapons" to upgrade/level-up them each. For charactter there are several different trees and the ability to use heavy weapons is under "muscle".

Also a heads up since you seam to struggle, do not try the Brother 1 boss unprepared, that one is a really hard one (much harder than the Brother 2 boss).

Brother 2 boss is trivial-ish (I use the top of the left or right bunker for cover), but for brother 1, I'd recommend getting the auto transformer for the LKW. Brother 1 boss is a heavy shield boss and auto LKW is very high dps.
r90s 3 MAR 2020 a las 5:20
getting the auto transformer for the LKW------where do I get it from. I only have 1 shot on my current LKW. How do I stop my sister from casually walking, why doesn't she follow me. This game has been one constant hurdle after another. And this is on the easiest setting. The previous 3 games were a delight to play

The auto transformer is an upgrade, save some silver coins before going into brother 1, you pick up the LKW earlyish in the map (you won't be able to progress without getting it). You should be able to upgrade the transformer. Once you level the weapon and further upgrade it, the right setup can melt a zitadelle before it even gets a chance to fire. Auto LKW is the highest dps weapon in the game that I've seen.

The amount of heavily armored, bullet sponge enemies can be frustrating, especially in the early game.

Same issues. Waves of enemies, when lowering skill to "easy" (cough), only the skill level for the normal soldiers drops, anything super soldier and above, no difference. I spent about 3 hours trying to locate brother 3 in catacombs and could not open both iron doorways without getting into endless skirmishes and almost nothing dies. I personally feel it is a poorly coded game that must have been assigned to some fairly new developers. Voice acting is cheesy, even corny throughout. All around annoying game, not what I expected. Hopefully I won't quit but if this keeps up, yes, it is inevitable I will. Usually do not read reviews for Wolfenstein and assumed I would be getting a balanced game, this is not what I expected at all. Graphics is the only positive take away.

GotMyAssKicked!-------------And so did I. But that because I made a mistake.

At first I hated it, but a player got me to play it with him in co-op. I have now finished it in co-op and will finish it solo within the next few days. I have thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish and must say that it is better by far compared to TNO, TNC and TOB

The first three were perhaps an updated version of each other, YB is totally new in concept and quite refreshing from the previous 3. The biggest mistake is that the player attempted to play YB in the same mode as the previous 3. And in doing so failed. YB presented a new style of planning and execution and each area offered different opportunity to play such as a change in how one approaches any given problem. You needed to improvise, change, modify and execute, not the game but in the player thinking/planning stage.

Believe me I hated the game at first until I was shown a different strategy.

I wish we had more players like you, who actually adapt and overcome for real, instead of writing the challenge off immediately.

Major kudos!

Well, thanks for the humor (much appreciated).

On Victory Boulevard, what I did to reach the brother 3 area is run through the level and not kill anything, pulled the electronic door handles and left. If that is what you call "overcoming" I did overcome it...smh. My point is this is not a real great design. I have played shooters many years and have rarely see clumsy coding of this nature. Bullet sponge enemies, cannot adjust skill level downwards fully, far too much resistance (two players versus the whole Nazi army).

Yeah, I'll keep playing for now. I'm sure I will run into another hitch at some point, or maybe at the very end where the game cannot be finished after many hours of effort, isn't that fun.
