Greetings,
Thank you for contacting the Bethesda customer support team!
There is no way to repair a save file once it has become corrupted. If your save file for Wolfenstein 2 has become corrupted, please delete your save and load a different save game to continue.
Thank you,
Bethesda Support

Your gold bars should be linked to your bethesda account. They're not anything to do with your save games. Did you log back into your bethesda account?

If you start a new game though your purchases are maintained.... They're linked to your bethesda account, not to your savegame..

Hi Legion, your gold bars and any items you have purchased are tied to your Bethesda.net account, not your save files. While there is no way to recover a corrupted save file, once you start a new save your purchased skins will be readily available in your journal. (Provided you are logged into Bethesda.net.)

We'd need more info to help diagnose any issues you're having with crashes and saved game files. A couple of things to try first:
  • Make sure that your system meets the requirements for Wolfenstein: Youngblood. Crashes may sometimes be caused by systems attempting to run the game without meeting the minimum spec.
  • If your PC does meet the requirements, check to see if you have the latest drivers for your graphics card.
  • In your Steam games library, right click on Wolfenstein: Youngblood, go to Properties > Local Files > Verify Integrity of Game Files.
If none of those things seem to resolve the issue, please follow up on your existing support ticket with DXDiag and MSInfo files[help.bethesda.net].

I highly advice https://www.gamesave-manager.com/
I lost save games in several games before due to crashes, corrupt data, new PC, you name it. A cloud save isn't the holy grail I'm afraid.
As for starting a new game, it isn't too big a deal really, you level pretty fast, expecially since the latest patch made stuff alot easier.
Also backup all saves on an external harddrive or use dropbox/googledrive/onedrive/grandma's laptop.
