what is there to do with friends?
like really? what is there to do? main missions are solo, if under power you get massively debuffed so you cant party up with your friends if they are vets and so other many restrictions. seriously whats there to do? only end game content and raid that can be only done once a day? i'm new to the game and i'm at a loss at how little i'm able to enjoy with friends if we want to actually do any progress. dont get me wrong the game charmed me with how amazing the customization is. but i wanted to enjoy it more with my friends! WHAT'S THERE TO DO ?

PSO2:NGS is a very casual game. There are many things you and your friend can do together like: Cannonball Rumble, Ordinal Tower, Geometric Labyrinth, and trigger quest. Each of those have their own unique cosmetic drops that you can try to farm for.

Urgent Quest that pops up can be done once every time they are up. So in theory if you are on long enough, you can do more then one a day.

Right now there is a seasonal event ongoing. You can play the Limited Timed Quest, do the seasonal board racing quest(It has a chance to drop seasonal scratch tickets for roughly a 2 min quest), or farm for seasonal points in combat area to trade in for useful items at the seasonal npc shop.
As a newish player, you may want to grind for some of those seasonal points to trade in as the item in the shop will be a major upgrade to what ever you are currently using.

Lastly, you do have the option to play the original PSO2 game. Your character looks and cosmetics transfer over but not your equipment and class/level and vice versa. Playing the original PSO2 rewards you with cosmetics and stargems.

exceeeeeept everything is locked behind some kind of restriction be it power or trigger keys needed for the quest. i wouldnt call it "very casual" as you clearly have to spend a lot of time grinding just to be able to grind the quests you want. so nothing of those matters if my friend that is level 30 and doesnt have the power or items to join anything wont be able to make part of it. Even open world roaming is ruined by the level debuff so walking around is also a no go as well. by the time everyone of my friends catch up everyone will already be tired, annoyed and frustrated. i'll be lucky if any of my friends will be left by the time we actually are able to do anything together.

Game is meant for you to solo rush the story so that you can get to the parts of the game where you need people to play with. It's an old online game more than it is a modern coop game.

As for catching up, NGS has been very generous to letting people catch up. Going from 0 to 80% will take you about a week even if solo. Just guide your friends to do the legwork on the story till they're done and they should be able to access everything except the harder Time Extension Quest.

Farm/Grind for seasonal points. Buy the gear in the seasonal shop as it will be a huge power spike. You and your friend can go into a combat zone and grind some points or do the board race seasonal quest.

If they are too low level to equip the items in the seasonal shop, do a yellow trigger together and power level them. Yellow trigger gives a lot of xp per run.

Yep, exactly like you said, I tried to make my friends play but they to stop playing because of how little there are to do together and how you need to wait for than to catch up to you or vice-verse.

Good thing is they can get a weapon at 65(just need to get to that level) that will really boost their BP, and the trigger quests only the party leader need to spend the trigger key, so you can spam "West Aelio Battledia: Yellow (Aelio Troopers)" until they level to 65, after that they should rush the story till Stia so they can do "Dreisen Plant Battledia: Yellow (Stia Troopers)" until they get to max level, and you can buy yellow trigger for only 1000 so yea its really cheap and fast to max level, not only yellow but all tirgger keys are cheap because noone do anymore so everyone is selling for cheap!

After that you will be able to do everything together, only the Main story, main story is single player only!

Is there a New Genesis lobby-sitting bingo card? That could be fun for a while.
