is there any other good action mmos?
Its 2024 and the only mmos any one cares about are dinosaur tab targeting mmos.
since new genesis pretty much killed pso2 I havent been able to find a new mmo to play.

No. Sega shouldn't even launch base PSO2. Just wait for NGS to be ready then have only one version. New Genesis. Anyone who wanted to play base PSO2 would just jump into the JPN server.

I dont like ngs like at all. it waters down what little gameplay pso2 had.

Without the base game which they used as "bait" global NGS would have shut down already. The one and only reason NGS survives on global is because of the fanbase it collected with the base game.

Why do you thing they released a game on global knowing it will be abandoned the next year ? That was planned.

full action? idk BDO i guess ? what other action mmo really is there thats decent ? maybe lost ark but thats honestly more of a phone game at this point

Can confirm that the only reason I kept playing NGS for so long was because it's impossible to uninstall NGS while keeping the base game installed. And New Genesis has finally gotten decent with the advent of Chapter 5.

Basically just BDO. I have a very love/hate relationship BDO but after the last few years and so many failed attempts at open world action mmo's, like elyion flopping (bdo jr basically with worse combat), and blue protocol being dead well before arrival, to name a couple, pretty much just accepted we arn't going to see anything else worth playing any time soon.

Unless you want to try the chinese mmo's...but they are so deep in rng gamba they make bdo look saintly.

I mean what exactly do people use as comparison for NGS to become "better" ? Exactly. The base game. This whole time people wait for NGS to become somewhat compareable to the base game and without the base game NGS would be dead for a while now because people wouldnt wait for it to become as good as the game we played before.

I mean look at Blue Protocol.
The mistake Bamco made was believing they could do the same by releasing a game with small patch cycles with long intervals compared with a world that offer nothing to do. Why did it fail ? Because it couldnt leech from a "Fanbase" it was a completely new IP.

Blue Protocol is the prime example of how bad games survive just because of a fanbase.

I completely forgot about Elyon. From the developers of TERA, minus its combat system. I had 2 short sessions with it over 2 days and never touched it again. Next thing I know, it was closing. I think Maple Story 2 lasted longer.

Also, I just remembered Closers and Elsword.

Ahhhhh yes that one.

Played it on the famous P-Server before it sadly went down and it was a very nice game. Now the Official server sadly has a stamina system and a bunch of other sh*t you never wanted. Hell. The P-Server even got the patches waaaay before the Official one. I played the Kitty Samurai Girl way before people got their hands on her in the global version. P-Server guys were f*cking fast.

yah I actually had that exact thought. there was a monster hunter mmo, doesnt seem as good as a normal monster hunter game, but seemed like a neat idea.

I say this a lot but, Stranger of Paradise. Has huge PSU (and lesser PSO2 vibes) basically having photon arts, a meter utilized for spells and said photon arts, "dungeons" to run with friends, increasing difficulties that up the level, wild builds, and tons of loot. The combat is also much, much better with tons more variety, and it's not reliant on counter-spam. Hell it even has Fear Eraser except it's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ amazing and hilarious instead of the boring one we've got. Honestly it feels like what NGS is trying to be.

Also it's not actually made by Square so, it's a good game.
