Is it still not worth coming back?
Former long time pso2 player, didn't really get into NG for obvious reasons. Still safe to say it isn't worth it?

Supposedly you should come back in June to see, as the Global version's Twitter account is dropping more and more "hints" about what to potentially anticipate going forward.

But as is, New Genesis has its first major boss fight that channels and revives a number of older Phantasy Star Online 2 boss mechanics (such as large-scale fights against a very large enemy, DPS checks, and party-wipes in the casual setting). The next class is incorporates the last weapon type that has yet to return (Gunslash/Gunbalde) next month and supposedly Chapter 5 will blow a hole open in New Genesis' world and story thus far.

I dont know your obvious reason.

But I do know I am still playing because NGS has become the most detailed character creation among all existing MMOs. Some say Black Desert is better at customization, but Black Desert only allows you to create the perfect Kpop Idols and only Kpop idols.

In NGS you can create a Kpop idol, anime waifu, android, furry, food, airplanes, cars, in-animate objects, monstrocities, or how much creative you can get.

So my answers is uwu.

darf falz battle is really but also only a reminder of good pso2 uq battles. Since the release of ngs this is the first time i had this feeling of pso2 boss fights but look at all the time that passed with bazillions of dress up gacha banners till we got a remotely interesting boss fight ......

NGS customization is garbage next to BDO. Not even a contest.

The obvious reasons that killed about a 20k strong steam player base. Taking an entire concept and forcing it on a player base that didn't want it, gave us a game that was an absolute shell of it's former self. From what I remember they were just pushing cosmetics into a game with no content. Personally I was frustrated by the massive wipes in progress made from PSO2 to NGS. Aside from keeping a few cosmetics, we started with absolutely nothing. For a lot of players, they didn't even have the class they wanted to play anymore, and from there it just got worse.

I truly wanna enjoy NGS but I wanna make sure it is worth the time at this point, or if it could even be worth going back to original PSO2 servers if they still have those open.

Can you use accessories in BDO?
Glasses and earrings that's it.

Meanwhile in NGS you can wear what ever the f you want.

Even the hairstyles and dresses are specific classes locked.

Wearing underwear in safe zone?
The character legs are stick in wearing heels animation.

But yep, NGS is garbage compared to BDO lol.

Eh, coming from someone who's been playing the series since Phantasy Star Universe, and waited for this game to drop many many years after. By then, I was kinda like whatever, then I put in roughly 50 hours, between old PSO-2 and NGS, and nah. The community is dead, or just sit in the lobby for days on end and only move to do Urgent missions. It was fun back when it launched and everyone was on it, and now, not even a single server is even full nor close. I lobby in is beyond barren.

The 60k players are just tourist type of player that hop between games. Base PSO2 only had 6k dedicated player, those that kept playing in the already stale months before NGS.

Cosmetics via customization was the strongest feature of PSO2 since 2012.

not combat, not story, not any other feature that you still have not mention on what is the obvious shell. its not worth your time because other games have all these features and whatever secret obvious reason you dont want to say, better except character customization.

Can you enumerate other customization that BDO has other than making the most prettiest/handsome kpop idol

What is fun back then that everyone was doing? because all I know that people have been doing what you said sitting in the lobby for days and do Urgent Missions since microsoft store headche gave me, or are you mentioning the good and horrible updates of PSO2 JP servers or PSO2 Asian servers.

the only difference is that:

1. You need to play your alternate characters to maximize meseta grind. The more alts your play the more you can get more meseta allowing no life players to gain a lot of money.

1 character only seemed better now, back then I could not afford the latest costumes because I only have time to play 1 other alt.

2. Dev speed run already existing updates, that all your equipment is irrelevant the following week.

You really didn't start out with nothing. You have the option to use your Base PSO2 equipment but they will be a under powered compared to NGS equipment of the same rarity. So before the newbie catch up gear was introduced, using your Base PSO2 equipment helped give you an early jump start in power as you slowly swap to the new NGS equipment.

As for pushing cosmetics into a game with no content; The dev team aren't a single entity. Not every dev team on hand is working on purely cosmetics. The "art team" are still on the pay roll while a dev team is working on content. During that time they just create cosmetics as those aren't as time consuming to make compared to game content. Not every person on a game dev team can code or create gameplay content.

Aside from the Scion classes which have been broken up and incorporated into some of the NGS Classes, all classes from Base PSO2 are currently in NGS with the exception of Base PSO2 Summoner since Waker is not a rendition of it.

ngs will never be worth your time. The game shouldn't have even been made we all liked pso2 more no way sega doesn't see that.

Unless you are interested in half baked anime "the Sims" with good dressup. Then no.

Ive just returned and finding it feels more like a complete game now and polished much more, quality of life improvements too (like ore isnt scattered anymore they are all in a couple big clumps, small example). And servers work now, no lag. Id recommend it if you liked the base game. Hoping they add more cool urgents (I want luther).

You can level super fast though dunno if thats good or not haha but less than a week Im LV70/70 without pushing for it too hard. Still need to level all my subclasses though and of course exp grind is ongoing with earning excubes, just means you can get to all the high content fast so I suppose thats good!

Right now is Spring event with some really nice hand-out Units and Weapons and a special event which gives good exp too. Goes until April 5th so I think jumping in now would be great timing.

Things to know: You can transfer Fixa between same weapon/unit types now. And there is an Add-On skill system for your subclasses that add account wide stat bonus (like in base game). It goes by a crafting system instead of just maxing out your subs though, you get these cubes, so you can get the system going early and it also gives 9% bonus to exp/mes/rdr.

I will keep that in mind, I genuinely have love for the game and want it to do well, I just don't wanna sour my good memories with all the underlying BS from the issues prior and still lingering.
