Which, you know that's fine by me, but in the process it took something away from Forces.
And right now, I'm feeling like Forces are severely lacking in versatility compared to Techters, who get Techniques, Melee, buffs, and most of the cool stuff from Forces.
Like, 40% more damage if you do a full PP burn on just Gifoie charged over any other ability.
OTOH, isn't PP Convert now a main class skill on Forces? Same with Photon Flare.
Seems like the idea for Forces is that they play it safe from afar w/Talises, then switch to Rods when an enemy is Downed, pop PP Convert + Photon Flare, and go ham w/fast charge techniques; while Techters are made to be in the thick of things while throwing out the Shifta-Deband skill.
Which, yeah, means that Forces are definitely lacking in versatility, but also possibly also that the one thing they do, they do especially well
Off topic but:
Twin Dagger's weapon ability blocks and repositions. It no longer keeps you airborne indefinitely like vanilla PSO2. Not too much to it
Dual Saber's ability is a parry similar to the Rod's. There's a skill where you can hold the ability down to turn the tornado that surrounds you into a more focused high damage attack that seems to have a lot of iframes? It's hard to tell due to lag
I felt the ranger to be more of a support this time around due to it feels like less damage than the other classes while also keeping blight bullet which arguably is a better support skill than shifta/deband right now. Blight bullet gives a much larger combat effect this time around than the buffs.
Techter is meant to be supportive with Tech, helping the melee out while also being in the thick of it, whereas Force and Rangers stay in the backline, helping out as best they can. Techter has access to all the best supportive abilities, with the advantage or getting into the fight with the melee, as well.
In New Genesis, Shift/Deband is a simple click that instantly applies the buff so every minute when it runs out the buffs should already be more-than-easy to tap. With such a short cooldown unless you're intentionally spamming Shifta/Deband it should always be ready by the time your buffs run out.
Considering that no classes have a "Universal" damage boost otherwise that is accessible without particular conditions it makes sense to me that the Techer is a very popular main class for that damage boost considering how popular the Hunter was as a subclass in the original game Fury Stance (essentially free damage boosts for absolutely no extra effort beyond leveling up).
The Shifta/Deband build loses its value completely as a subclass unfortunately.
For Techter subclass as it is now, I see maybe two other ways to build it - at least without flat out using the Wand / techniques under a non-Force main.
For Force users, the Techter sub can save skill points on the ice, lightning, and Talis-related skills.
For others that want to get more out of their Photon Blast, they have the skills at the top. Though there are probably other classes that synergize better depending on what a player is doing or choosing.
