1.) Engine Update.
Unneeded. The game looked a bit old yes but thats what gave it its charme. The community right now is like 50/50 about this where one half likes it and the other half believes the new look looks even worse then the old one. On top of that the Update hinders many people from playing at all because of the hardware requirements. Many people loved the game because they could play it on PCs that aint up to date.
2.) Updating NGS as if its still the Dungeon Crawler PSO2 is.
Lets be honest here the world is empty and the amount of content Sega delivers per patch is something that would work if this was still the old dungeon crawler which it isnt. Game with a more or less open world need bigger updates with content that keeps people playing until the next content patch drops with only a little drough periode in between.......and not 5 months. So Sega needs to get out of their PSO2 mentality because NGS isnt PSO2.
3.) No Dungeons.
Ever heard of an open world game without any dungeons ? Well at least i never did until NGS released. UQ are nice and all "AS A GLOBAL EVENT" but those aint farmable dungeons.
4.) The fact that Sega said NGS will have much less Story content then PSO2.
I mean really ?
Fazit:
If Sega patches and updates NGS as if its still PSO2 then they should have stayed with PSO2. Instead they update the engine so they can resell old outfits all over again and do a collab with a company that sell Hardware (how convinient). All in all NGS feels like a cash crab that runs on bad servers that cant even handle Segas own engine upgrade (oh that ironie).
My main gripe about NGS atm is the gear system. Well, it's mainly because it reminds me of Firefall and it's gear system playing well in the open world. Could modify movespeed, jump height, skill CD etc. Compared to that, the one with NGS is just really, really basic. Just a stat+1.
Agreed. NGS is just worse than base pso2 in all ways. The classes in ngs being so slow and floaty is beyond annoying. The player models also look like their skin is made of plastic so they even managed to make its character models look worse than base pso2.
People already proved that this statement is wrong tho.
Its true that base PSO2 didnt have that much more content then NGS however the big difference here is that Sega patched the game more frequently and added content faster even if just in tiny bits.
I mean we could just compare what PSO2 did in its first 6 months and then we look at what NGS did in the first 6 months except releasing Scratch after Scratch.
Well, okay, I'll let you hash it out with the others. What I'm told seems to be the default reply to "NGS has no content" or something to that effect so it's just what I wrote.
People that say PSO2 had the same amount of content at launch are just desperate to down play any criticism of NGS.
There is a Reddit thread that debunked those claims months ago

That means 1 year less Scratches sold. They would have never done that
If that is Sega's idea of a dungeon, then they need to get people in with more creativity and imagination.
the open world is useless and so boring to explore. Gathering is so bad they did not even bother to add animations for mining and the combat is complete trash as well.
and not just that.. the game is also horribly optimized and the improved graphics doesnt nearly justify the poor performance.
