Xbox Controller with Chatpad players out there?

Finally upgraded my pc to better play games again and moved from my xbox one s to here for better quality and stability playing PSO2 but i ended up finding that i cant differentiate my xbox controller chatpad from my actual pc keyboard when playing, used to be able to pop sub-palette items and skills with my chatpads numkeys on xbox but now it just immediately types in game chat instead meaning i have to manually select any item i want or need to use like healing items or the mars. Has anyone found a way to separate game text chat and number key to sub palette usage with an xbox chatpad after all these years its been out?

try turning off Direct Chat feature (I believe that is what it is called)
