Like, come on bruh, let this slop of a game die so Sega can crawl back to work on classic PSO2.

private server cope lol

when will this thread die, that's what i want to know

It's a habit already for them for 4 years.

Their private server is going to repeat of what happens in PSO2 Block 69 with custom cosmetics, there is no ESRB, PEGI, or CERO Ratings to limit age content. Majority of its players are almost 40 years old, this private server will likely remove the height limitation allowing shorter and taller characters. Even custom pose animations.

There will be no community manager to manage players, the rules are whatever the server owner and their friends moral ambiguity. They praise the private server owner's morality, because it aligns with theirs.

Other than Boosted EXP, Boosted meseta, and boosted rare drop to 100%-1000+% , there are also custom equipment with custom skill effects that are only for friends of the server owner.

And of course no censorship of symbol arts and offensive-explicit language chat.

Gameplay is just their excuse, because the official classic server is available and the japanese server has more content.

This is why they are excited for in their private server and keep making the same threads every year.

No community manager? Sounds like a win win to me. The community managers for global PSO2 have been nothing but the best example of why community managers are so disliked in general.

It's odd that you have such a negative view of a potential PSO2 private server in the future when every other private server in this franchise has been so well received.

Also, the people developing the current private server are the same people that developed the PSU Clementine private server. I've known these guys for over a decade. Their aim will be to keep PSO2 as close to the original PSO2 as possible and expand on it.

I dont think so

Thats the problem. You think.

You have too know not to think. Thinking is for people that dont know the answer yet or are not sure. And calling someone "obsessed" by "thinking" is just self reflection.

And "i know" i am satisfied with the Universe P-Server. What you "think" is irrelevant.

Hey at least PSO2 is not like Strinova, where Steam moderators are paid by the Chinese government to have double standards.
There are people in their forums breaking the ToS every single day and get away unpunished, because they White Knighting their game.

While i got banned for a whole week for "derailing the topic", when the other person broke the ToS first : https://ibb.co/qY959Q5

Chinese communist government what do you excpect?

having played private servers for games before, i agree. private servers run a huge risk for corruption and admin abuse because who's gonna stop them if they're the only source for the game (or the game in a user-friendly state)?

i expect any pso2 private server to be rife with drama, power abuse, and uncontrollable levels of erp.

I have recently started playing the Clementine private server for PSU and I am having a blast. It's become my go-to gaming experience over this weekend. The server had 226 people on it last night, which is 1/6 the playerbase of NGS on Steam.

Pretty good for a private server of a VERY old game!

It's just sick to be hoping for an existing game's rapid demise just so you can play on private servers. It makes sense for PSU, but we do not want Sega to close the door on PSO2/NGS. Go play something else.

Most of us play this game because it is the latest Phantasy Star thing, or as a refuge/side game (that is why you see an overlap between its audience and those of FFXIV or WF), not because we are emotionally married to a product like cattle. This is a concept which eludes the mind of the 2020 PSO2 player, and the reason they think it's some kind of epic 0wnz0r when they call for the "death" of this game. The doors closing on it means we all simply move on to the next game.

In any case, wants are independent from reality because PSO2 is the cockroach that has survived numerous nuclear apocalypses. Detractors have been calling for its demise since 2015 and here we are, the newbabies are just now going through the same revelations so go easy on them. Their cries are not going to be heard.

And something to brighten the day, I am sure the cummers will never sniff out my public private sanctuary and make a nest for themselves there once they catch wind there is a way to dress up and erp without dancing to Sega or the player market's tunes.

Go play Requim Bloodymare (has a different name now i believe but its on Steam). Its an MMO that literally died like 2 years after release and its still running with no people playing and that for over a decade now.

So no. Things dont die when they die. Some come back as Zombies.

Why would they crawl back to work on an even deader game?

The next PSO is assumed to be Japan-only because the Global side has proven with flying colors that it is unable to provide anything of value. The players are not there, the payers are not there, and the only discourse you will ever read from it is low quality seething and tribalism. If it was barred from participating in future games, the series will have lost absolutely nothing.

But perhaps there is a report somewhere out there demonstrating the contrary, that this game's international playerbase actually has 30 times the population of its domestic counterpart and is financially carrying the whole thing.

Why would you play and pay for a cut down, censored version of a game that came out like what...a decade after the original japanese release? At the point where 50% of people stopped caring.

is it still getting regually update and it still has its offical server even if ppl arnt playing it still a living game its not dead till those server shut down stop reinventing terms to fit ur narrative fake news
Gilver Redgrave 1 月 16 日 上午 12:13
The only people reinventing terms is your lot. We see that perfectly when we talk about "Pay to Win".

And no a "dead game" means the "PLAYERBASE" is gone. A "Game" thats not being "played" is dead. Look at it like someone whos in a coma and wont wake up again. You can pull the plug or you let it run of life support.

So no a game still having its servers up and running doesnt mean its alive. Who ever claims different is "reinventing" terms.

Now abut Requiem.
Yes the homepage etc is still online. Its called "Archive".

https://www.playrequiem.com/news/updates

Last Update in the year 2011. Not dead huh ? Even the Forum section is Archived and cant be written in anymore. You can still download and play the game but its pretty much finished.

Even the re-release on Steam (after shutting it down once on steam lol) had its last content patch 2019. This game has a longer and much harder story of pain and struggle then NGS ever will.
