Genius Invocation and this are different, they are card games shoved into a 3rd person "shooter" RPG.
Not to forget TT in FF14 that has actually a fanbase.
For me, I don't mind have something like that. At least something to spend time on while you stand around in town.
On the other, they're focusing on entirely the wrong thing.
They have to address the core gameplay, rewards, and story and completely overhaul it.
