What's next, auto play function?
Guild Wars 2
FF14
all closed down after this feature was implemented too.
Its unfortunate F2P players have to follow outdated guides to max level in 2-4hrs.
edit: sarcasm aside, there is nothing to do after lvl 75 level cap making paying players who skip the levels and story to likely quit within a week. And since they are newbies they will be really bad at UQs despite having the equipment.
I am only annoyed I have to see another wave of new players who are incompetent and wasting revives or doubling clear times.
I'm rather worried about people further enabling Sega to add more that you can buy and keep calling it "convenience".
I mean, what's to stop them adding stuff like mineral packs, or augment packs for those too lazy to farm. Seems to work in their favor if people are OK with it.
They are not in the least interested in new players getting up there quicker to join others, it's just about money, and they're testing how far they can go, before it's too much.
But freaking annoyance, with a wave of noobs in emperor clothing, either they need revives so much that they went into afk mode and hide one corner.
In all fairness, Chapters 1-4 are already a slog as-is and the "new player experience" needs a great deal of retooling and cleaning up to make the "skip to ver.1's Chapter 5" less appealing.
Those of us who already played the game and completed the story can already skip to the most-current story chapter and there hasn't been any indication that this would change yet - but even if it those of us who played the game already have a foot in the door so progression isn't difficult.
On the bright side, these players skipping directly to Level 70 will be getting a much better start than a Level 1 player would because maybe someone might teach them the ropes more easily.
I personally don't think this should have been a paid feature, but rather something similar to how Episode 4 "reset" progress for everyone (new equipment resetting what stars and rarity meant and changing mechanics on the new equipment so drastically that it was silly to hold onto old rare equipment unless it was a certain katana) and brought both old and new players together. More players meeting is always a good thing - and if your revives and clear times are so precious to you you're always free to play in your own little corner.
I mean if you want to doom post, but this isnt really end of the world, MMO throwing pay2skip has been already a thing for a more than a decade. Im rather surprised it took Sega this long, but its still disappointing in a different way.
To be more accurate its bad in a way that newbies wont know how to play and become a hindrance to veteran players.
It also makes new players burn out quickly because there would really be nothing other than fashion and creative space after they grind to lvl 75, which will be around 2 hrs grind time.
Since the game is action combat a lot rely on the physical reflex of the player, then the equipment follows. Which NGS regularly give seasonal equipment that can be easily grinded.
Quick Leveling for free2play is the willingness to cooperate to be boosted or follow online leveling guides for solo players.
And that's my whole point. People keep accepting more mtx on top of mtx even when it's not necessary.
But oh lord pray when they start adding something to pay for you're not okay with.
You keep giving publishers a free pass for the dumbest stuff you could pay for until it goes south.
Ffxiv did it is the same argument like, if Billie jumps off the bridge, would you aswell.
Where would your limit for pay2x be? I mean, Sega has analytics, as long they see you pay, they assume it's fine. Just like the dumb 60€ rappy pack we got at release.
Or to rephrase it : did pso2 ever need to boost you to max, no. So why does ngs now, when its size can't even compare to what pso2 had. Both leveling, augmenting and story.
This is better than paying.
Or they can just make main story as optional. You can choose to skip main story but you have to do other activities to get exp and equipment rewards.
If i want to doom post, I wouldn't make topic about this. Saying NGS is dead game would be better topic for doom posting.
which they shouldn't do.
There were three announcements made:
Regarding the data for PSO2 being released as DLC on 6/7[pso2.com]
Advance notice regarding the release of the Skip Gameplay feature for purchase by AC[pso2.com]
Notes on Mini Episodes and adjustments to EXP earned in some Tasks[pso2.com]
In short, supposedly experience and leveling up for newer players is going to be tweaked - likely so Kvaris and Aelio are less "desert-like" in terms of progression and so players should be able to more-easily race through Chapters 1-4.
