And I'm gonna be honest, NGS story has been quite lifeless. It felt like there was a spark in Chapter 5 with the floating base stuff, but that might've been mostly due to the cool setting and concept.
Never really felt like I cared much about Manon or Aina and all the other characters I've kinda forgotten. They all felt a bit empty, and I dunno what's to blame. Maybe the writing, maybe the voice acting, I dunno.
But, I can confidently say I very fondly remember characters like Io, Stratos, Katori, Luther, Klariskrays, Hughie, Maria and Phaleg.
They all had this charisma to them, owning their characters in their own way; the story of PSO2 was alright, not mind-blowing, but the characters made the story entertaining.
Even the characters I remember less of still felt more interesting than the entire cast of NGS; Kyokuya owned their chuuni-ness in a way I found endearing rather than cringe, the Etoile-girl was just fun, Melrandia was nice to have around, Gettemhult came around eventually, the old man CAST -Reginald?

adjective
adjective: empirical
based on, concerned with, or verifiable by observation or experience rather than theory or pure logic.
"they provided considerable empirical evidence to support their argument"
Based on observation, NGS is ARKS trash... for now.
Literally the lore on why Zepetto was doing the experiments.
After defeating the primordial-god-thing the base PSO2 Arks became complacent and stop being serious at fighting.
Only 3-4 RNG corridor biomes and 3 classes that play like a Monster Hunter characters very slow attack animations.
I would definitely disagree with this, as Phantasy Star Online 2 held the charm at the time of being one of the very few fair free-to-play games that didn't actively push players into paywalls and at the time that "slow" Monster Hunter style was absolutely the appeal with the games Phantasy Star Online 2 was competing with (Monster Hunter Frontier, God Eater, Ragnarok Odyssey, Freedom Wars, Toukiden, and more).
... That being said, I agree, even if for different reasons. 2013 PSO2 had an awful drought of content and wasted potential. NGS is just repeating what PSO2 did, which repeated PSU's awful launch. Sega just doesn't learn...

While logging into a game and playing it firsthand can provide valuable insight and observations, it is not the only way to observe what is truly going on within a game. There are other methods of observation, such as reading reviews and analyses of the game by players and critics, watching gameplay footage on platforms like Twitch or YouTube, and participating in discussions on forums or social media.
In fact, relying solely on personal gameplay experience may limit one's perspective and understanding of the game. A single individual's experience with a game may be influenced by their personal biases, preferences, and playstyle, and may not accurately represent the experience of other players or the overall state of the game.
Additionally, some aspects of a game may be difficult or impossible to observe through personal gameplay alone. For example, the inner workings of the game's code, the decisions made by the development team, and the overall market trends and influences affecting the game may not be directly observable through personal gameplay experience.
In conclusion, while personal gameplay experience can provide valuable observations, it is not the only way to observe what is truly going on within a game. A broader range of observation methods, including reviews, analyses, and community discussions, can provide a more comprehensive and diverse understanding of a game.
Even so, that would be like fighting Rockbear, Snow Banser, Gwanada, and Vol Dragon for 12 months with 3 classes options, or lucky enough if Gunner, Fighter, and Techter would be available on the 1st year.
Throwing all available content wasnt a norm for that era.
Likely not a norm, but I would see that Global's eventual release followed through with what the series producer had "always wanted" in terms of the original western release. Phantasy Star Online 2 did quite a bit of "new" things at the time especially with the very big move to being a free-to-play game in a space where those games simply didn't exist yet - and at least as I see it Global never really stepped away from that original plan other than to cut out so much of the dead air and fluff that the Japanese version was infamous for.
