Sega needs to patch the game!!! Hacks are starting to roll out!
These cheaters can make millions to billions of meseta, take control of other player's characters, and more. Please report this as it effects not only the game's economy but also everyone. You wonder why everything is so high in the player market, well here's one reason why.

Every MMOs has cheating to some extent, but the extent of cheating in PSO2 seems rather high because of its weak security and the way people can create their own solo instances. Since this isn't bringing as much visibility as Non-Solo Open World areas, it makes things less riskier for cheaters and probably is creating a more prosperous cheating environment.

Anyways what could realistically be done ? Working on a better Anti-Cheat would cost time and money that SEGA prefer investing into designing new cosmetics to sell. Pretty much everything is more lucrative than working on their game client security, the latter can sadly be overlooked.

The funny thing is that players say "this company is asking for me to get access to my PC in order to play the game", "this game is a data miner", "this game sell our information to china", and more and more.

People don't want good anti - cheats, humanity cannot be saved.

Oh, i've seen people being literal shadows without names not moving an inch and attacking everything on eye site, you can't even see their name in the nearby characters, yet they kill every single mob on map.
Isn't that due to Xbox privacy settings?

Privacy settings unless they changed it is just not being able to communicate or view the players information like ARKS ID page.

Also I am pretty sure he meant it when he said literally a shadow and not the solid color "load in model". There is no way they would make privacy setting option people invisible and even hide their movements lol

A while ago they added options to change the simplified model, and made a shadow the new default. Setting is also glitched, as it's missing from the base game, where the default option is used regardless of what it's been set to in NGS.

and yet, even though it does nothing to stop cheats, people will still cling to hardware-killing gameguard because "muh cheaters"

Please report it to sega on their website. It is unacceptable.

Be careful tho, some hackers may trick you to download their "cheat program" and when you downloaded and installed it, they will have full access to your computer.

How do they trick you to download their cheat program? lol

"Hey kid. Want to know how to unlock the secret Dark Falz boss that was added this update? Just download this. It's official don't worry. You have to unlock it through this because the cutscenes have a glimpse of full nudity and Sega doesn't want to drop their game rating down. It's legit. My whole clan runs it."

If you mean offer their "cheat program" then yea. You deserve it if you decided to cheat. Cheaters suck.

OK, a more realistic example: If 50% of the world's internet user still don't know how hacker/scammer exploit your weak spots, they are vulnerable. That's enough for those thieves to earn billions of dirty money.

If you are smart enough to protect yourself, you will be fine.
But insulting those victims is not a good thing to do, mate.
Protect as many as you can, don't give any of them any chance.

Imagine if your close friends smartphone got hacked and he hold tons of important data about you too.

We are talking about potential cheaters in this situation. What kind of individual cheats? I'd say someone who is dishonest and selfish.

Yea I can see what you are getting at. I didn't like how the post was written though originally but that may because of how I interpreted the sentence which rereading it I can see the intended angle. I guess it was just me. It came off as "tricking to download cheats" so I was like "no that person knew what he was getting into and isn't innocent regardless if he got his real cheats or spyware or both".

I believe it’s better to report than advertise the issue. It more discouraging than helpful in my personal opinion. Unless the op believes people need to know what to look for, identify and report.

Of course, suppress all communication and instead believe that Sega will have the answers while doing nothing and cashing their checks, spoken like a true believer. It is more discouraging to tell people to believe in Sega while nothing happens.

This has been apparently going on for months now or even always was. Considering Sega's track record of hacks and their own community in general I would say your faith is misguided but you don't just have faith you have blind adoration; Sega could tell you they gave you the ability to fly and you will immediately throw yourself off the building to test it and even as you splatter on the ground your last thoughts would be maybe you did something wrong.

Thing is, the only way hacks will only be a priority for SEGA is when it suddenly crashes the market.

Something like Tisah suddenly being more common, pushing the prices down rather than up and causing people to gear up faster (which in turn, means people will start playing less).

Nah players gearing up faster won't cause a blip, Sega themselves regularly give away top tier level items to everyone. People playing for very little wasn't really a problem anyway.

The only way that Sega will do anything is if the hacks can somehow create premium items en masse and crash that market then, when the latest breast implants and skimpy outfits don't break past 6 digits is when Sega will go into Defcon 1 and begin to rain death on all.
