Trainee Cocoons are pure tedium
I get the idea behind it, but one cocoon per general topic (movement, movement in the air, basic combat, combat against enhanced enemies) should have really been enough.

You keep running into these things long after you maxxed out your skill tree. What gives?

I dont know anyone running cocoons past getting their skill point.

Actually those are for maxing out your skill tree. Each cocoon/tower gives you 1 skill point. So if you find a new one after using all your points youre NOT maxed out yet.

Yeah, 3 mins of tedium... Oh the humanity, only if you suck and fail all objectives and thus not getting that sweet sweet 1 skill point.

I did perfect everything, master of towers and cocoons for the SG, and the "titles" I guess... 30 mins or so for some SG, to me, is a fast rate of return after all. Then never to do it again, unless there's an ARK record.

Let it be known. There will be more Towers and Coccon. Be ready to waste more time doing them.

Because all of them are just 3 mins long, which even if that were true, there is still a massive quantity of them teaching you nothing that you couldn't figure out just by playing.
Nice strawman.

Anyway, I stand by my point. It's tedium and not good design to overuse that concept.

Yes, I know. There is no escaping their ubiquitious presence.

Silent Hill tought me to "NEVER" like in game puzzles.

Explain to me how a timed labyrinth mission is going to teach players how to play the game?

I wouldn't go that far. I would say Sega never actually implemented those same exercise into other parts of the game. I mean, Field Race came close but it's not something we have to do constantly like combat.

If that's in reference to the maze one, I almost timed out on my first attempt due to having virtually no sense of direction. Pretty much the only challenge I could do without as I spent most of the time running in circles, If they add more content related to that I may be in some trouble.
