Chances of that happening are like completely zero.

I believe on console they even did the opposide. There PSO2 is an add on.

Maybe the PSO Tweaker Launcher can do it. I am not using it so you ned to wait until someone here who uses it can confirm if its possible or not.

There are no official ways for you installing one game without the other unless you play on console.

It can't be done without heavy mods being a programer myself. It looks like they striped the titlescreen of base PSO2 and replaced it with the NGS title screen/menu which is were it most likely logs you into the server. I don't have the files in my face because I'm in my phone but i don't think the two games are seprate exe files but if it was then tweaker could maybe pass login info to base PSO2 but last time i checked that's not the case.

Not only can you donwload NGS only, you can also use a single install across ALL 3 pc clients. Like that 50+gb one from Steam be used as well on MS Store and Epic.

See the tech support sections (EN).

The OP wants it the other way though, PSO2 without the NGS part. Sadly, it's not possible. It could have been if Sega had just put two separate games in a single launcher.

Sega is much more invested in you playing NGS than base PSO2 since that is where the main crux of content will happen. You have to clear some space on your HD if you want to play base PSO2 because Sega themselves will do everything in their power to have you play NGS instead.

I second this. There should be a way to install only PSO2 without NGS, as well as a way to install NGS without PSO2.
There's no reason to play NGS at the moment until Stia's story releases, at least the base game has a story worth replaying.

Totally agree with that. I wish I could only install one of them and not both when I only play one of them. :steamsad:

That thing was possible for a long time now. Way before Playstation release, which is NGS only by default.

Agreed. Pso2 is great but ngs isnt worth the space it takes up.
Sega added the option on consoles to install New Genesis only for around 50 GB. The original PSO2 game before Sega implemented New Genesis was around 80 to 90 GB (as far as I remember.) Most of the combat layout is the same for both games, but New Genesis features a "Simplified Movement" button, which is literally like telling a stubborn puppy what to do (doesn't always lock onto the entity you want it to lock on."

Both games evidently share identical assets to reduce storage consumption, so it's possible to have the option to install either New Genesis or PSO2 individually.

Not officially in the global release, and either way it still unfairly excludes players who only want to play the base game.
