Was having the weapons in the Ordinal Tower a good idea? Yes. In its current state? Absolutely not.

The dungeon should have had at least 43 more floors with raising difficulty so the gear felt more of a reward rather than charity. Everyone having weapons doesn't matter to me, my experience matters to me.

The Playstation thing could be a reason. Though if that was it, I think there would have been other methods to get them up to speed without angering players who have farmed for awhile, like, Playstation exclusive gear gifts. Stuff that's good and already in game but not really on par with what other players already farmed, like a full set of +39 Codek weapons and defrozzis armor with some already installed augments, similar to the Reinassa set new players are getting at a lower level.

This would be, like in some MMOs I've played, good starter equipment to start farming the actual BiS at the moment. Though then again, 8* stuff is soon to arrive anyway.

I might want to know about how many people were bothered by this update in Japan, since it seems when Sega wants player input, they get it mostly from that population.

PSO2. Welcome to game. This is newbie area. You will be here till you get 10 mill xp after only earning maybe 3 mill. This will toss you to newest content without mindless grinding.

Plus we have new gear to assist you by doing a trivial quest. Now since leveling and gear is out of way. Go Role Play and meet people.

This gives us an option. Be able to devote what we want to this game.
Die hard minimax grinder. Hunting ulti fixa and lvl 10 Capsules. On best possible gear.
Or
Casual gamer who just wants to fashion out chill with friends and do daily missions for the weekly 600k. "To buy more stuff"

Both players will be able to do content. Theres no Score Card to chase. and were about to have ULTIMA ONLINE level house building.

Call this positive trolling i guess. "Still cant believe this is a thing" But i like it.

Uh the casuals quit the game cuz the fashion price is too expensive. Then they screwed up hard by crash before they able to sell expensive items cuz they need to wait 3day shop pass. I know a friend get frustrated and quit the game.

Meanwhile the hardcore basically have nothing to do just looking at market 24/7, invest and dressup. Even the streamer like kero and trift say the best way to get meseta is to invest on AC, which is true. Everybody knows that.

So there you have it.

I see what your saying, but are the playstation players really on par with us/vets? When speaking BIS you have to include augments too. Remember Sega is geared towards the casual player. I don't think 60 days is long enough to accumulate the meseta or materials to really have BIS.

Lets just look at Mastery IV. It will cost way more than 60 days of materials. The other route is buy 4 of them which will cost at least 4 mil meseta. This the route I took. I bought two and made two from my material. But this route requires augment protections. And we know augment protections are time gated. 1 or 2 a mouth and maybe they pop up in store. I don't think they've had long enough. Unless they Whale of course.

Btw. Don't forget Sega handed out Rivelate armor for free when it was BIS. Everyone thought they would do the same for Klaus, lol. Sega caters to the casual, but they never forget about the min/maxer.
