Never played before, link accounts?

Hey,

I have never played this game before but I read online that I can link an account from Steam to Xbox One. What should I choose when making an account on Steam, if later on I want to access this same account from my Xbox? It is asking me for a code when I go through the prompts and I am not sure what to type in or just skip it. Thanks.

If this is your first time playing the game, you can skip the step because it will create your first and initial account.

Later on, you can go to the "Support Menu" in-game (before you select your character) and Issue an Account Link Code.

On the platform you wish to connect your first account to, you will Confirm that you want to input an Account Link Code and use this same code you issued. If you Decline and Skip it, you will never be able to try this step again due to how Sega currently has the system working for Global.

Oh I see, so the part where I really have to pay attention and not skip is when I first start playing on my Xbox? (after I have played a bit on Steam)

Yes, you are correct in that the very first prompt (with the Account Link Code) being the most important one to not skip.
