List me things to do in base PSO2!
Title says it all.
Reason? Basically kind of got bored of NGS' grind loop so I want to change it up a bit and play base, but I don't know what exactly to do there (except for the story quests). So, might as well just ask strangers on the internet what to do in base.

I mostly just did the story and only started exploring the other stuff after NGS launched.
There's Extreme Quests, those are fun to do with NPC Friends. Exploration Missions too. Rideroid.

That's the neat thing.

Your first objective is to get to lvl 50 with your best class to get the best weeklies that give you 2 million meseta. Running the fourth featured quest is with other people makes it go by fast. If you want to take a break, there's also a casino a few players like to hang out in. As you're brand new to PSO2, try out what classes are available and see what clicks with you, but be smart with feeding your mag. Resetting or undoing incorrect builds is annoying.

I will come back for pvp..... Hopefully it isn't gear power level gated though.... LIKE EVERYTHING IS

All the fun stuff requires endgame gear, or very close to it if you don't want to be obliterated in seconds. So first thing to do is push towards that, get the titles for zeig shop weapons that would open you up to things like atlas, lightweave etc since you're no longer being spoon fed these things you'll do it the normal hard way; can't exactly remember which series required the rare material where you could only make like 2-3 but yeah.

Or you can skip this process and buy some insanely over priced gear off the shops, or stand-ins from the badge shop on 2nd floor of the shop area. There's a lot of useful crap in those second floor shops so check them all out.

The other thing to do is check out the Scion classes. They are basically what the NGS classes would be if they weren't watered down to the most basic state. In short they are amazing to play, and changes the games pacing tremendously in comparison to the base classes. Also don't screw up your mag that's a big one.

There's more but I'm tired of typing words.

The Battle Arena forces everyone to a particular class (Battle Warrior) and everyone is forced to the same starting equipment and access to the same equipment throughout the maps. The only advantage you have is ping-driven (first-to-confirm tends to get an advantage).

But on something more serious for Phantasy Star Online 2:

  • Reach Level 75/75 to unlock your actual class options
  • Reach Level 85/85 to access where Phantasy Star Online 2 "really" is in terms of content
  • Collection Folder Content for instant-gearing (you want Millionaire/Croesus weapons at minimum, and if you are Summoner you want all the fourteen-star eggs you can get for each pet)
  • Zieg's Weapon Exchanges for end-game gearing (Cras/Klauz weapons and units are your goal)
  • Story Quests (you get thousands on thousands of Star Gems for clearing the storyon Hardcore Mode - and there is an upcoming campaign that rewards you for clearing all the story in the first place)
  • Divide Quests for loot/equipment/camos and an overall bite-sized Phantasy Star Online 2 experience in controllable doses
  • Endless Quests for players wanting to push classes to their limits and take on one of the game's challenges that cannot be bruteforced with raw power
  • Solo Ultimate Quests for end-game progression and for playing some of what remains as Phantasy Star Online 2's best boss fights
  • Emergency Quests for small vertical slices of content that players played Phantasy Star Online 2 for - and particularly "Cradle of Darkness (UH)" if you are interested in instantly catching up decently or want to make easy Meseta.

  • Casino for weekly Star Gems
  • Battle Arena for weekly/monthly Star Gems
  • Buster Quests for weekly Star Gems
