Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis

Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis

Προβολή στατιστικών:
Sega should seriously drop the "Online 2" in the title
New Genesis is basically a new entry in the franchise and PSO2 Classic should be kept as separate.

Its a direct sequel so its not a new entry but a continuation.
Hoping they bring back Matoi.

So was Portable 2 to PSU yet it didn't have the name Universe.

Also it's vaguely a sequel as it's said to be set a millennium after PSO2 Episode 6 but there is barely anything connecting both.

I'd be fine if they finally decided to port and translate PS Nova to PC/modern consoles or have Online 2 as a standalone offline game (especially the first 3 episodes).

personally i'd rather them not. i played the fan translation and its not that good. The characters are as bland as the ones in NGS and the locations have less variance than even NGS. it's NGS before NGS.

Wasn't Portable 2 a sequel to Portable which was itself a condensed version of Universe?

And both were different games while NGS is just a PSO2 add on.

And dont anyone here try to argue with me about the add on thing. Sega themself lets you download the base game as add on for the console version and if the base game can be considered add on so does NGS.
In terms of branding, "Phantasy Star Online 2" is far too big of a name for Sega to just drop cold considering how much that carried them through the 2010's. It doesn't make sense to me to drop the name when it quite literally is what a lot of people would recognize more than even "Phantasy Star" on its own. In that sense, I do see Phantasy Star Online 2 as its own "franchise"/series because there are already so many pieces to it (Phantasy Star Online 2, Phantasy Star Online 2es, Phantasy Star Nova, PSO2 -On Stage-, The Animation, Episode Oracle, The Trading Card Game, IDOLA Phantasy Star Saga, New Genesis and so much more).

Yet it didn't have Universe in its title.

New Genesis could be still said to be the sequel to Online 2 without putting Online 2 in.

PS: also Online 2 isn't even the sequel to the original Online series despite the title.
Does it really matter? PSO2 is still there, accessible, even if some people only use it to farm SG.

eventhough it's nothing like it was and the server RNG is incapable of more than 5 UQs and no concerts and to get new stuff you need ngs. If that was the problem I would be complaning less.

They should be playing its story, One of the best ever, besides Episodes IV and V. Way more satisfying gameplay and combat than NGS, too, in addition to the superior story.
They're just missing out on the best part.

1.)
No it couldnt because it is "within" PSO2. It is PSO2 NGS because its the "same game" not a "seperate" Title.

2.)
Its called Online 2 because its the second game playable Online if i am not mistaken.
