PSO2 JP Tweaker Questions

1. Do you not need a VPN? I hear it already has something that allows you to bypass the region lock but I wanted to make sure.

2. Are there still English speaking people who play it and on what ship do the majority of them play on?

3. I hear that the japanese players sell their things in the market at a cheaper price but is it enough of a difference to justify me to abandon my Global account since I will make up for it in the long term?

4. How fast are the new events translated to English or is it auto translated and is the auto translation good or bad?

1. Yes. There's also a free proxy in there though I'd rather pay for my own VPN. Game isn't data intensive during gameplays anyway.

2. Ship 2 is the foreigner ship.

3. Up to you. Red box abuse was not as bad as global had. Last time I checked months ago, a 400k meseta costume there cost 2-4M in global lmao. Final decision is still up to you.

4. More professional than Global but is a one man team so it might take like a week IF the update is a major huge extra large size update.
And is not prone to political correctness like this snowflake server.
It's not also 100% translated as he doesn't deal with texts that have no effect on your gaming experience/progress. Think they call them flavor texts or something.
The Korean translator dude is a bit faster but you won't be playing that one anyways.

2. Join Ark-Layer discord channel, there is english community for JP server there

3. Yep, very, take hair price for example, average is around 3m meseta (ship 4)

Whelp, screw no. 4. The delayed translation was during pso2-only days.

1. I've heard that they were working on a VPN for tweaker users to use, like they did in the past when base had a DDOS attack iirc. I prefer to use my own VPN (Used to use Nord but switched to a different provider, it has been a very good switch to me so far.)

2. Ship 2 has always been the ship for foreign players, I don't know how it has been since the region block since I play on a different ship. You'll still find some foreign players on others but you'll have to do some digging around.

3. JP's economy is much better than Global's. A hair style is probably around 3M on JP if it's in the current scratch and it's the "good" one. If I cared; I could actually get cosmetics way faster than global, that's for sure. Of course, this is going by ship 4's pricing (the most populated ship), ship 2 has usually been a bit more expensive but that's likely due to a smaller playerbase and it's more of a hurdle for foreign players to charge AC (which I do via PSO2ES, a mobile game for PSO2).

4. Typically, the translation updates have been pretty fast. I'm going to assume that you're talking about machine translating when you mention "auto translated". They have been doing it manually for years. They may make a mistake here or there but for the most part; they do pretty well.

1. I have never seen the built in VPN down, i play every day at evening.

2. Yes but you have to actively look for them, ship 2 had the biggest population, ship 4 has a smaller eng speaking population

3. Yes, way better prices, ship 4 stuff sometimes sells for half of what its sold at in global sh2.

4. Kinda fast, theres a translation patch mostly a few days after an update.

Also AC might be cheaper to buy in JP due to exchange rates.

Other not considered points:

- Player base is way more capable, you can S rank tower defenses in pubs no issue, on the downside theres way more elitists.
- Its not as dead as global
- Moderation isnt an issue, granted given everyone speaks japanese you shouldnt be using nearby chat much anyways, but theres virtually zero risk of being banned due to nono language or hurt a GM's feelings.
- Incredibly high amount of voice tickets in JP, sadly most are unobtainable since they were limited AC scratches in og PSO2, but some still remain in circulation, they are all voices in japanese and range around well known VAs for anime, etc. Global has like 10 or so voice tickets compared to JP's 500 or so.
