An update to the game file has been detected.

So every time I launch the game I keep getting this:

"An update to the game file has been detected. Please restart the application." So I let it do its thing, restart and it just keeps popping up - Each and every single time.

Now I checked PSO2's twitter and they are saying: Please close the game and update it on the steam store to solve this issue.

Not entirely sure what this meant so I take it they want us to reverify our in-game files through Steam. Which is what I did and some other friends now as well and instead we get a message like:

"145986 files failed to validate and will be reacquired.". So that's great, it's just redownloading the entire game now :)

Hoping for it to work, but this sucks though. Please look into this.

same issue here, i had it first on epic store (where it worked) then i deinstalled it and installed it on steam. Since then i cant enter the game and get the same error "An update to the game file has been detected. ..." )

It could be that the download server it's on is having issues, or your internet is having packet losses/bad connection. Which ends up in a corrupted package.

And if the entire game is packed and downloaded as a single packed file (which some do to make the download smaller), it will corrupt the entire download..

Having the same issue too, just downloading the game, after that the game won't update itself.

Don't use the "Verify integrity of game files" option. The entire game will be re-downloaded.

Yeah it's redownloading because it's detecting issues with all its files somehow. And we should be able to launch the game till the server select but instead this error keeps appearing. So something is proper wrong with the steam version

Yeah I did too. Maybe its for the best that we just wait till the server maintenance is actually over, which is later tomorrow (I think?). Lets see how it goes then.

Didn't have a problem on my end, yet. Will see tomorrow if the download went properly and all the files came in correctly. Not unexpected if I have to do all this over again. I've been through this song and dance before many a time.

It's no less annoying now.

I used to have this issue back in the normal PSO2 here on Steam. Only thing that solved it for me were the PSO2 Tweaker, But this update allows me to run it normally. Not sure if the Tweaker have been updated for NGS yet however. I haven't played in a while so, could be worth a shot, or maybe someone else know if it has been updated.
