However it's the same as others here. After installing, trying to start the game throws an error where it trys to validate the game files. After it finishes that, I tried to validate them manually, only for it to be completely incapable of recognizing the installation, and wanting to reinstall everything from scratch.
Seems like some Steam install configuration conflict. Something that the guys managing the installation files for the game would have access to, rather than an issue with the game or Steam themselves. Best issue I can come up with is the path they are trying to validate is different to the installation.
What drive letter are y'all using to install the game, if it isn't C:?
All it has are a bunch of jumbled-name 0kb no-extension files.
This is after installing, and then after manually getting steam to verify the files, and allowing it to redownload. Currently it is sitting stuck at 100% and "Verifying Download."
Edit: Stuck isn't really accurate, the bar is slowly filling.
Edit 2: Alrighty, doing that got me to the launcher, now some page script crashes and none of the online functionality works for the launcher relating to blogs and the like.
Edit 3: Scratch that, second launch shows the blogposts, and starting the game works.
The solution I looked at suggested doing the fix with the launcher open, then doing it again with the launcher closed. I don't know if that's necessary but I did it anyway.
-Navigate your way to C:\ProgramFiles(x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\PHANTASYSTARONLINE2_NA_STEAM\pso2_bin
-right click the folder pso2_bin and select 'properties'
-select the 'Security' tab and click the 'Advanced' button there.
-on that window at the bottom there is a checkbox that says "Replace all child object ...." put a check in that box and click 'ok'.
-let windows do its thing, it might take a while, on my computer it took about 45 seconds or so to complete.
After doing that pso2 launched normally for me. Hopefully this works for some of you.
Edit: I also heard that windows defender might be causing issues if you're using that. Worth a shot to temporarily disable it and update just in case its causing issues. Don't forget to re-enable it or install another antivirus afterward.
