game is dead ?
no i don't think so. on regular day, we got at least 20-40k playerbase per day and that's just on steam. not to mention Xbox, Microsoft, and epic games.
also depending on what timezone you are in.
let me answer a few statements of yours then.
still laggy as heck :
the game is laggy, yes. but it got patches 2 days after the initial release and there are lots of people saying that it got a little better. still exist, but gotten better by every patch.
the NGS game is haven't even a week old. if you want to play the game with no input lag and already perfected netcode, then play the classic pso2.
----
the game got no dungeons nor content
come back later a few months or a year later if you want lots of contents.
as for dungeons, cocoons and towers doesn't count ? it's basically loading a different set of area outside of the worldmap that got a goal, objective and reward, no ?
define dungeons, then.
----
"it takes 10 hours to beat the game"
no it F-in not.
i call ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on that one.
if you blasted days or a week worth of content in a single day or plow through max lvl in a single sitting, well that's your problem, not the game not the creator.
----
"worldmap is abysmal "
dude it's just the 1st world. and the 1st world are divided by several areas as well.
need an example ?
imagine naverius map.
as you know naverius world got a few areas that they were keep using.
forest zone 1, forest zone 2, forest boss zone, tundra zone 1, tundra zone 2, tundra boss zone, naverius taco 1, naverius taco 2, naverius taco 3, naverius taco 4, naverius taco boss zone. ruins zone 1, ruins zone 2, ruins boss zone.
so, instead of pre-load the whole map with mass player blasting their activities, it is rearranged and divided by a few area with each area got maximum limited playerbase. purpose to do so ? to reduce lag, obviously. but sometimes it causes more harm than good, because checking multiple area instead of one got its issues as well.
----
"the worst part is the community of this game "
dude, in my opinion this community is one of the good communities out there.
we got people willingly guide you if you're new. we answer lots of the same question on different thread again and again just for the sake of it.
i can mention quite a few communities on steam that more toxic than nuclear waste, and just pure badness wrapped in one.
but i'm not gonna do that, 'cause that's what i called "being a ♥♥♥♥ to certain playerbase that like that X game"
----
"They are starved for a new mmo and lower their standards to explain to themselves that they did not wait for this steamy pile of ♥♥♥♥ for nothing"
to me personally this is as expected when you are accessing the game immediately after release, especially open world game.
so don't get easily hyped.
if you want to play a perfected game that got no common bugs, and massive content then treat release date 1 year after initial public release.
if the game you play 1 year after the initial release still got common problem such as inventory gone, random suspension, lag here and there, toxic playerbase, lack of content, then you know you shouldn't play that game and feel free to give a negative review based on your experience.
but as for now, i dare to say that you sir are talking with your ass, and that kind of irks me, so pardon my rambling.
I mean, on Steam and even on Reddit I have seen comments along the lines of: "lol game works fine for me, must be you." That's the level of ignorance we're working with. It really goes both ways of either whiteknighting or trashtalking the game/Sega.
NGS has, without a doubt, a really good fundament. It's silky smooth for movement and combat, which let's be real is massively due to it stemming from PSO2 and improved upon to create the movement that is NGS.
On the flipside, NGS's world/content right now is very limited. "But Tenseiken, <insert game title here> had the same or less content one or two decades ago!" No. Stop it. Let go of the copium before it's too late.
Can we also talk about the fact that the personal shops are buggy as all hell? That people lose cash? That people don't have mineral respawns for days? I have items in my personal shop that I get an error with of I want to withdraw them and it also doesn't show up for players to buy.
We're not talking about an alpa or closed-beta game here folks. This is a full ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ release of a game title from a massive company called Sega.
If all we do is breathe in copium all day and just say it's fine then nothing will ever change and all we do is worsen the "expected standard" of games. If other companies take a look at this and the entire playerbase is just like "yeah that's all fine just put the fist in daddy" then not only will it ever get better, but it will get worse. More minimum work, yay.
Folks, look at the big picture and for one second put aside the "but muh favorite game reee"-defence mechanism. Spinning in circles pointing fingers isn't gonna get you anywhere.
pso2 jp has had more players then FF XIV for like 7 years lol
yea peace out. less lag for all of us to deal with.
SEGA needs to make money and if there are less players that give them income, they will be forced to listen to the whales, and expect the game to become more pay to win (even if it is already kinda is). As a game company, you need to balance both freemium and paying users otherwise your game will slowly go downhill, aka what is happening to WoW right now.
Also why are you so mad that other people are enjoying the game? Grow up, lmao.
