Music to my earholes, thank you so much~
Whirlwind is only gained and expended by using saber and saber PA's, outside of that it doesn't do much damage than your normal attack and stays on very shortly to warrant gaining it and not using it for deadly archer.
As a fighter main myself, it's better to choose what weapon for fighter you will use and stick with it if your gonna use that weapon primarily and change later if you feel like it.
I like weapon switching a lot because Im a bit of a combo nut.
No pragmatic purpose at all, and I understand that its far from it in terms of the metagame. My goal is to simply experiment, because the game made it an option to and I find it fun.
I have my Fighter skill tree invested on both Knuckles and Saber. (I only took Deadly Archer as my weapon action skill to leave a single point for the PP recovery passive)
But I didn't like how I lose whirlwind stacks every time I close the distance with my Knuckles/Wire.
I thought it would be neat if I can keep my whirlwinds while I switch to other weapons mid-combo, so I can rotate back to a Saber palette and immediately finish the combo with Deadly Archer.
An example scenario would be:
Impractical? 100%
Badass? oh yah. (Or Tryhardish, if you wanna look at it that way)
If you want fun and practical multi weapons.. Knuckles/Dagger and use Saber/wire when PB is ready for Saber PB+Archer and you shoubs't have much issue with gap closing with Saber/wire considering both of them have better long range gap closer than knuckles.
No worries, I didn't mention vertical gap closing because I never had issues with it, Wire's weapon action is pretty much an extra limb that Im used to switching in-and-out of.
But thank you, I will keep that info in mind, I'll definitely use Daggers as a gap closer once I feeling changing my playstyle. (or if I buy a new skill tree)

Dagger isn't just for gap closer, dagger pa (Vulture Movement/Circling Buzzard) is the highest damaging and the most pp efisien PA in fighter arsenal, it do more dps than saber pa with deadly archer if you have to build wind from 0 although you have to land its last hit or else you will have lower dps than just doing normal atk so this not something you want to spam on active opponent unless you have memorize their attack pattern, still this is very powerfull pa during downs phase
Speaking of gap closer, dagger gap closer and or vertical gap closer with accel drive have niche use of it can pass through opponent body part, for example you are behind daityl and want to target its chest core, with wire you will hit his back and stop there but with dagger it will bring you direcly to its core, very useful if you want to quickly targeting core during downs phase.
This is all good info and you're selling it really well. I like all of the techs you just mentioned. I understand that you're coming from a metagaming perspective, which is pretty cool. I respect people who took the time to know the numbers, learned the ropes from top to bottom.
But Daggers just didn't click with me, or at least not YET.
I'll try it eventually once Im bored with what Im planning to pull off.
Because quite frankly I can't utilize the Daggers' fun factor even if I wanted to because I don't have a skill tree for it yet.
