Ep.1-3 Which NPC you like/hate?

-Io:because she calls me Boss
-Matoi:i wanted protect her
-Pati:because she is Pati^^
-Maria:good old wise women

i hate:
-Theodor:what a wimp
-Kleriskley the 3.:ahhh that voice be quiet little girl

Most liked ones: Obligatory Matoi, Huey because he is amazing, Melfonseana because of development, and Quna the same reason.

Most unliked ones: Regius because he was a moron for such a seasoned ARKS, Katori because of her attitude, Oza and Marlu because of their pointless bickering filler.

Would feel bad to leave out Matoi, considering she's basically in love with your character (Main Character). That aside;

Echo actually shows some really good character development throughout the chapters, from being with Zeno, to losing him, always holding out hope that he would return to even so much as swapping classes to keep some part of him with her, even though inside, you can tell she's hurting, and really doesn't believe anything she's saying at all about him being all right, but as long as she can't "confirm" his death, the hope is there, as little as it may be. I think I would have to choose her as being my favorite character.

Honestly, quite a few characters show development, however, I'm going to have to disagree with @thenameless, and say IO, is by far one of the worst, if NOT the worst character in episodes 1-3 (spoilers possibly 4 as well).

Io, is kind of just there, she has no real backstory, other than I think she's an Officer or something on the ARKS ship, her constant need to call the main Hero "Boss" gets old, and super annoying about the first 6 times she says it, and as mentioned, I still don't even really know too much about her background. She does at one point tell you how Duemans are created which is cool and all, but it's not just tied to her specifically, she in the Dueman community, she's just pretty original, nothing significant about her at all. This is a shame, because, I do like her character design, and he beliefs that she doesn't "Need" to show off skin in order to be effective at what she does. But again... Io is just there, nothing about her is noteworthy at all.

@Aumires I would tend to disagree with as well, when it comes to saying Katori. I actually quite liked her, she was pretty much a second "Comic Relief" to what Pati, and Tia are. Though she actually does have a background, and a lot of motivation to see out whatever she has her mind set to, despite her being dragged off, and constantly in training. One day it might pay off for her. Her attitude I think, is she wants to have fun while training, which is not seen in the case when it comes to training with Saga.

Anyways, there are my opinions.

I'm the only one that thought Melrandia should have been executed? I don't like traitors so couldn't stand her after that.

Io makes more sense in japanese. The way she talks is kind of strange. She also isn't calling you boss, she is calling you senpai. Io also refers to herself as boku which is normally something only a male would do. You are correct that she doesn't serve much purpose beyond being a new recruit side character.

Tia is better than Pati.

Matoi I want to like, but her actions and mannerisms don't match up at all. She acts weak willed and subservient to everyone, but somehow has more will to fight than anyone else. I'd say I'm neutral towards this character.

Risa is great, she gives perfect free counseling sessions.

Quna is good simply because her arc was done better than any other part of the story so far.

Like:

Matoi: If something happens to her (again) I'm gonna kill everyone in the universe and then myself. Really hard not to like her with her attitude and backstory.

Maria: Best granny, seriously. Also, her JP voice is amazing and could hear her talk all day.

Huey: Not the most deep character ever but he's awesome nonetheless and makes me laugh my ass off everytime he appears on screen.

Risa: Personality wise she is best trainer by a landslide and participates here and there on the story unlike all the other trainers.

Quna: Her arc was the best one out of all the arcs in EP 1-3 and the only part I enjoyed of Episode 1. Sadly she doesn't appear too much after Episode 1.

Luther: A top tier bastard, but an interesting bastard.

Hate:

Afin: Shut up, aibo/mate.

Klariskrays: Sarah is a better you. Also, shut up for a second for the love of god.

Elder: Extremely boring. His fight is also trash, at least Hyunal is good.

I wanted to add Seana/Randia and Persona to liked but...

Seana/Randia's "arc" was too rushed and all over the place. Meanwhile, Persona's concept was interesting, sadly the execution wasn't the best (not to mention the lack of a female model).

This is actually difficult for me to answer now because I know a lot of the Episode 5 and 6 story. As such, my view on Apprentice (the one from 10 years prior) and Gemini changed quite a bit.
But then again, perception of a character is always important, as an example, I didn't particularly like Matoi originally, but when she stuck by you at the end of Episode 2, that was when my perception of her changed.

Yes .
Matoi was strange till end of EP2.
But after that,i begged i can get her back to me.
After she turns back to normal from PD,
she says "i missed you"
I missed her too.

This is a tangent but for me it was a bit special:

I played JP version years ago. The point where the story ended back then? Right after Gemini's
miniverse mission. Yes. At THAT point.

Years and years afterwards, I played this version. So you perhaps can imagine how special felt it for me the.... everything that happened afterwards.

So yeah, Obligatory Matoi mention is Obligatory for me.

Like: Al he is just too adorable, i really liked the earth arc of the story.

Dont really hate anyone 'yet' though, but I'll put an Annoying category: Huey every time he says his name and council number i just skip, i know who you are dude just STOP, ugh about as annoying as Klariskrays bonehead line every time she speaks.

Matoi is a given for most of us so there's no need to go into things any further. As for other people on my like list, Xion got my curiosity and pity once Episode 2 started picking up. For all her craziness, Risa is a lot more in tune with reality than most give her credit for. Honorable mention goes to Io, Sarah and Katori. They may have been minor characters but I like Iheir designs and personalities.

Klariskrays the Third may have won some sympathy points with me during her arc but she's still in the dislike category and Sarah is miles better than her. Theaddor may have been depressed but he was still an idiot. Still I have to give Regius the award for biggest idiot in the ARKS Fleet for story reasons.
