The level cap for each pet is determined by the rarity of the pet. A 9 star will cap at level 75, a 10 star will cap at level 90 (or may have been 80, can't remember off the top of my head), and a 13 star can be pushed beyond level 100.
In order to level past level 100, you need to first level a 13 star rarity pet to level 100 then speak to Pietro and choose 'Pet Limit Break'. He will then unlock the cap on your pet so you can level it beyond level 100.
Every level after 100 requires significantly more Egg Exp to gain. Normal 9 star eggs will only provide a small amount of Exp, but on the plus side, you can use that time to try and max out all of the pets Egg Synthesis stats to maximise it.
Pet personalities have two varieties, standard and enhanced. For instance, a normal personality for Wanda is 'Sunny' which increases it's damage during clear weather. There is also a 'Very Sunny' which offers that bonus PLUS a boost to rare drop chances. Enhanced personality eggs are quite rare and very random, even 9 star eggs can have an enhanced personality.
If you want to make use of enhanced personalities, the best thing to do would be to return the same-type pet back to it's egg (remove sweets from it's box if you have any so as to not waste them), then use the egg with the enhanced personality to make that you're new pet. With that, use 'Pet Rarity Enhancement' at the pet shop using your first pet to boost it to whatever rarity you had to begin with. To put this in to better perspective:
1: 13 star Sunny Wanda returned to it's egg after removing sweets from sweet box.
2: 9 star Very Sunny Wanda used
3: Use Pet Rarity Enhancement on 9 star Wanda using 13 star Wanda egg to get 13 star Very Sunny Wanda.
Much like weapons, when using Egg Appraisal, the best element to go for is Light, since the vast majority of bosses are Falspawn, and those are weak to Light element.
All sweets you can put in the sweets box can stack stats, meaning any sweets that increase a pets damage when above or below a certain health threshold can give huge boosts if using more than one of them. Aside from that, rare drop rate sweets and anything that increases the damage stat of your pet is worth putting in.
You can run client orders from Pietro every week to get rare sweets. They're definitely worth completing, because a lot of these sweets are extremely rare drops.
There are extremely rare variants of each pet in the game that we call 'shiny versions', just like pokémon has. A shiny pet egg will always be 13 star, and it will have 'S' in it's name to show that it is a shiny (e.g/ Wanda S Egg). Shiny pets simply have a different colour scheme from their normal versions, so it's an entirely cosmetic feature. You can change an existing normal pet in to a shiny version by using Pet Rarity Enhancement and using a shiny egg, even if your pet is already 13 star.
So there's a few things, if there's something specific you want to know about just reply to this and if I know I'll tell you. I'm still new to the game myself, so there's still plenty of things I don't know, but there's plenty of ways to learn, either from in-game info, wikis, asking people, or just experimenting to see what works.

That's the one pretty much everyone uses, have fun as Summoner if that's your style!
still think the community needs to work on this kind of thing though, is there a reddit? i'm not super used to using reddit but i've dabbled with it for warframe. it would just be nice to have a singular place to go that'll at the least have links to info dumps
Its for EP6 JP Version,so some Weapons/Subclass/Eggs not avaible in our Global EP4 Version.
PSO2 reddit has only 1900 Members=empty
1) how do subclasses work, particularly in context of summoner? am i trading in one of my active summons for another weapon or am i just piggybacking of another classes skills? if it's the latter, then how exactly do MY stats affect my pet's stats?
2) speaking of stats affecting stats, how the hell do mags even work? what does leveling up "TECH Support" even do for me?
3) what stats should i even be going for? when i'm picking armor i try to prioritize TECH and defense, is that really what i should be doing? or are there less obvious... uh, 'traits' (i forget what they're called) that don't obviously affect stats that i should be looking for?
4) skill rings?!?! where the hell do i get harvesting juice or whatever so i can collect from more than 3 nodes a level?
5) what are the weird stat things going on in the top right of the screen, what the hell do they even do?
6) is there anything other than eggs, candy and mag food that i should hold onto? most stuff i feel might be important in general i put into my shared stash, but shared stash is kinda small and i'm running out of room, is there anything else i could be putting into my character specific stash instead of shared stash?
7) lastly, what the best way to complete Hans' sub-boss specific requests besides just throwing yourself into the same level over and over again?
I don't play summoner that often, so my answers will be in the general context of the game.
1) Unless you get a weapon that can be equipped on multiple classes (think of the 8* rarity weapons and the 12* sigma weapons), the only weapons you can equip are those of your main class.
When you set a subclass you inherit the skills that are not main class only (these are marked as such in the skill description) around 20% of the subclass' stats and if it is a class that is able to use techniques and your main class can't, then you can use techniques too.
2) The mag levels are added directly to your base stats. So let's take a level 70 Force as an example. As a Newman female, at level 70, the character's Tech attack is 528, if you have a level 70 Techter as the subclass, then Tech attack rises to 633 (a Techter also has 528 Tech attack, 20% of this is 105.6, adding this to 528 is 633.6). If you then equip a mag with 200 Tech then your Tech attack will be at 833.
3) The two general things to look for is the defences (all 3 defences are useful) and resistances. Any addition to HP and PP are also nice. Once you get to the high rarity stuff, set bonuses no longer apply.
4) The Rappy Fever bonus gives you a lot of rocks and gems as a reward. But you should check places like the casino shop and the area around the photon drop/EX-Cube shops for this.
5) The PSE? Do you notice those pillars of light that occasionally shoot out of enemies? If you get enough of these for one of the levels to get to 8 then you can get a PSE burst. This results in lots of enemies constantly coming at you for a while. Otherwise they just increase the effect of things for a short time. Like the meseta up PSE will increase the meseta you pick up by the given percentage.
6) You really should see how cluttered my storage is. I have spare units, rings, weapons for different classes, all of those tri-boosts and other boosters, EX-Cubes, photon drops, PA fragments rocks and gems, bonus keys and so much more. My default storage was full for a while and I was using character and premium storage. So you really should get used to storage having lots of stuff in there.
7) It depends. For a lot of them, there is an Arks mission under the sub quests that guarantee a spawn. The rockbear though is a weird one because that was originally the boss of the forest, but it was so easy that it was eventually changed for the fang banshee. So you are either going to have to look at the forest advanced quest or the time attack quests to guarantee a spawn.
3. PP and TEC are the important stats for summoner, other than that defense/resistance doesn't harm either ofc, as a summoner you usually don't care about HP due to dia master.
4. you can also use multiple characters for harvesting as stamina is character based (and you get 3 characters for free), so if you really want to get the stuff faster that can help aswell.
both of the guides that were posted here are very good, definitely worth to read both of them if you want more general knowledge about summoners
