Can this game be played solo only without coop partners?
And how far can you get in the game without buying anything?
Thank you for your help.

Higher tier raid bosses aren't gonna be able to be solo'd, you'll have to co-op with 11 other players.
I (Cool Soul) am replying from another account. Thank you for your help. Happy gaming. :)

You can, in fact, solo them actually. It's just extremely difficult to do solo and will take a large amount if time if you're not both extremely well geared AND highly skilled.

they have time limits and you'll time out before you do the dps unless you're in the top 1%.

Firstly, you're exaggerating. You by no means need to be in the top percentile to be able to solo an UQ.

Secondly, I'm well aware of time limits. However, you generally have an hour to clear these and that's more than enough provided you're skilled enough and not undergeared. Where a standard run may take 8-10 minutes, a solo run would be 16-30 depending on class, skill, and equipment.

I have soloed most EQ's (ok, on the JP server, which is easier, but still) and had half an hour left for pretty much every single one. Therefore I'd guess that on NA you could quite consistently clear them within the time limit, too, even if you're only going to have 10 minutes left or so. The only one I've ever run into trouble with is Luther (regular, not Omega)... because Luther.

The only quest I had problems with solo was Corruption Investigation: Amduskia.
The boss is able to change what it is strong against, and classes tend to not have the weapon variety to avoid having your damage cut drastically part way through.
Hu main and Fi main are able to do it if you use the gunblade, Fo and Te mains could do it with their classes main weapon and a talis if they get lucky. But annoyingly, it is likely going to require preparation and using your subclass weapons.
This is definitely one that you are going to have a much easier time if you have other party members with you.

The trick with Fo/Te anga is to avoid actually hitting it with your weapon/rod shoot. If you hit even the bits by accident, then as the only weapon used it can gain resistance to it, but if you manage to only use techs all it can do is rotate elemental resists.

Kinda like how it will never resist pets from Summoner but if you accidentally hit it with the harmonizer, it can gain a resistance and then your pets will all have their damage dropped.

Yeah, and that is why I class preparation the key here. Knowing how the fight really works allows you to do it successfully. I think you mentioning that hitting anga with the tech weapon is an important point here. It becomes second nature to just hit things to recover PP.

Pretty much. It's why skill plays such a key factor in being able to solo group content when that content is still relevant. Without that skill and experience, a lot of small things can go wrong and quickly snowball out of control to make something seem either impossible or nearly impossible. With it... well, I won't claim it's easy because even when it's routine screwing up can still be costly but at least things become very much doable.
