Other Phantasy Star games on PC that I should try?

I've heard plenty of great things about the Phantasy Star games, since the series exist for over 3 decades.
And I know that Phantasy Star 2, 3, 4, the first PS Online and PS Universe are on PC.
Should I check them out?

Yes you should totally try them! Clementine is down and will be for some time but PSO BB has several living servers, I enjoyed Ephinea server.

PSOBB is much clunkier and less fancy but still a lot of fun. I think it's more challenging than PSO2.

I've only played a bit of PSU on Clementine but it seems closer to PSO2's game-play. The problem is Clementine is still very far behind on getting all the content working again, and it may never achieve 100% but I think you could just play it offline or that story expansion thing (Again, pretty much no experience here.)

The mobile games like PS Nova and PS Portable 1 & 2 are neat too and don't require a beefy phone or PC to emulate them. I sometimes play them when I have weak or no signal out and about.

Edit -> As for the Phantasy Star games, ehhhh I mean I find it hard to play old turn based rpgs these days but if you want to see the series roots then you should give it an hour and see what you think.

This is one of my favorite series, I love all the games. I am also very much looking forward to the new one next year!!!

Trials of Mana is a real old game that got a remake, still uses all the traditional systems, seems like it was a big success

Yeah, that one, not "Secret". Trials Of Mana. "Secret" had a bad PC port, so I'll skip it. "Trials" is much better from what I've heard.

Yeah, that one, not "Secret". Trials Of Mana. "Secret" had a bad PC port, so I'll skip it. "Trials" is much better from what I've heard.

It retains the scope and flow of the SNES game, but controls more like a PS2 game.

Final Fantasy wise, 4 (aka "2" for the US SNES launch) is a very very good starting point for JRPGs in general and sets most of the common formulas for all future FF games since (well, maybe except for 5-man parties) and has a decent pace casually. 1, 2, 3, and 5 are less straightforward mechanically and can be frustrating starter games.

FF6's not a bad start either, but will be long for a casual first playthrough. It was my obsession in 94-95 at one point though... :)

FF7 is what a majority started with of course because cd 3d anime boys motorcycles power fantasy cool. wait what, it's about corporations ruining the world!?!?!
