Worth playing with high latency?
So I have satellite internet with a low latency at 600ms and a high at 1000+. Will that affect the gameplay a lot if I play solo, most mmos I can play but it's not fun and pvp is out of the question. Basically how much of this game is client side or is there a way to play offline? Thanks for any advise.

Pretty much everything is client side bar a few things. You can play all the game without issues unless you went into PvP so enjoy brother

Oh that's good to hear. I know the combat is fast paced so a second delay can be a game killer for me.

unfortunatelly the Bosses have you one shot with this ping
with normal maps i dont think you have problem but the lag will it very noticable

Bosses won't 1-shot you because of ping.

Almost everything the game does is client side. Even if you're lagging like crazy, if you dodge an attack on your client, you'll have dodged it as far as everyone else is concerned too (with exceptions for things like Battle Arena).

The real issue is if you have extremely high latency, you'll have delays when doing things like swapping weapons which can make some things and strategies harder/impossible to pull off. Additionally, you'll have a much higher loading time which would make trying something like competitive Time Attacks an exercise in futility.

Playing solo, however? You'll be fine even with a high ping there.

I've played on JP when I still lived in the Netherlands and am still playing after moving to Australia. Never had any issues and it's exactly the same for NA. You will hardly (maybe 2% of the time?) notice any lag, unless your internet is a mashed potato. You'll be fine.

You can play all the content without lag, if you have latency it's your internet problem (except for UQ)

The game use a special style for hosting, you are the host all the time, that's why you always will see people killing the same enemy on differents position, because you host your enemies and your friend host enemies, but the information of the enemies is online, so if you kill a mob, boss or wathever, that info pass to all clients and die in every client.

In UQ works the same way, but they are many players, so if anyone have low internet speed or high latency, the syncro produce TP from the bosses, but happen very rarely, mainly on attack on magatsu

Great it sounds like I'll be able to play solo just fine and maybe I could tolerate some multiplayer. Thank for all the replies.

The urgent quests you'll need to do with full seperate parties anyway (12 people, groups of 4), but you won't notice a thing. Solo is great some of the times, but not in advance quests and urgent quests for example. We have crap internet (shared between 5 gamers) and have yet to run into any lag issues.

Unless the server has issues, which is rarely, but then everyone else experiences it as well.

Just in case anyone with high latency is wondering. It is playable but a little annoying, hitting boxes and collecting items is affected and if your download speed is slow things like dialog and other characters can take a bit to load. Overall I think it's playable but high speed and low latency are definitely needed if you have to have smooth game play.

PVP is horrible outside of NA but everything else is fine.
Gotta wait for global release to properly play battle arena :D
