Corrupted files cannot "spread."

File corruption is caused by an error occuring during when the system is writing to a file (i.e crash during file saving) and happens to each file individually.

So some of you might be getting a crash when starting 1.3
For me it started when the game crashed and after that I was not able to start up the game. The error was something like
writes a faulty config.json into

C:\Users\username_here\Documents\My Games\Terraria

of course "username_here" is your username.

Just delete the config.json in that older and restart Terraria. Done.

Is there a big error message window that pops up when you crash. There is not much info to go on so there isn't much help to be had. Though to me sounds like so some reason you don't have the correct
"write" premissions on the folder where terraria stores it player and world data.
