Looks like a nice Ectoplasm farming setup, I would definitely use it that way rather than my usual "enter dungeon, kill things as they appear" tactic.
However, you're activery killing things in that video. Even a Summoner would need to pick up and sell the junk regularly. Doesn't that defeat the purpose of an "AFK" farm?
Why not just do a Pumpkin Moon? It's 25-30 Platinum in 9 minutes (plus 5 minutes for selling several inventories' worth of loot).
It's kind of sad that Terraria's money system is mostly useless. You need money for reforges, and... ...yeah, that's about it. They could dump the entire money system and just let you pick which modifier you want on your items, wouldn't change the game much.
Or maybe the fun in building farms isn't about the payoff? I know some people love building things regardless of their usefulness, but not being creatively inclined myself I don't find any pleasure in it.
Still works well in 1.3.
Spooky Armor is still best because Tiki and Stardust makes the slimes do more than 1 tick of damage.
