anyone think there should be a world reset item?
like after you defeat the moon lord you can get/craft a reset world item that gets rid of the crimson/corrupt as well as the hallow?
it would have advantages/disadvantages
one of the big ones is oceans, if biom fied could revert back to normal
a big disadvantage is no corrupt/crimson/hallow biome

but you can just remake it using some seeds/a clemenator and allowing it to spread normally

im sure people have already made a thread about this
i think i read one currently

not necessarily
if it spreads to ocean biomes its uncleanseable
and if even 1 block of corrupt/crimson/hallow remains as well
1 seed even
you gotta restart everything

1 block takes a long time, this guy said he went to eat, came back, and all his cleaning was undone

It takes HOURS for a single block to corrupt more than a few screens

And there's nothing uncleansable about the ocean

Probably the ocean comment was referring to the fact that biomes can spread to the blocks beyond the edge of the map where you can't see them, which can make it hard to purify them. When I was purifying my world, I ended up just using Tedit to remove the last few blocks of corruption beyond the edges of my world because no matter what I did, my Clentaminator just wouldn't reach them all.

i know it gets so annoying
i had to cut off the last 2 blocks from my ocean to stop the biome from reverting
on the upside it made a great hellevator/tunnel

again the whole point of the idea was to purify everything so you can focus less on mobs and more on building
it would be a post moon lord creative type of game mode where everything becomes normal (by that i mean no hallow crimson/corruption)
but of course it would be able to be reverted by just spreading it normally
it wouldnt be completely passive
mobs would still spawn normally but the main 3 biomes that spread would be no more
andthe events would only be summoned by the summoning items

Ah, that didn't occur to me. I guess I don't mind though, I rarely have my oceans unprotected by sunflowers, a living tree, or whatever. I actually attempted to quarantine my ocean once after it became fully corrupted, but that was back in 1.2 something.

Then just create a new world? Or use tEdit?

Imho a set of items to disable/enable the spread would be best.

And maybe an equip that lowers the amount of enemies that spawn.

I remember pre 1.2 when they only way to remove corruption was with purification powder. That was a ♥♥♥♥♥. In the end most people had their worlds 50% hallowed since that was the easiest way.

The clentaminator is really good at cleaning worlds though, you can clear all the blocks on your screen by moving it in a circle. And if you feel like it just keeps comming back then make 3 hellivators 3 wide to separate your world into 4 isolated pieces, make a horizontal tunnel right across your world as well to make it 8 pieces. That way you can tell where that 1 piece is missing and the remaining 75% / 88% of the world won't be in danger.

Would be nice, but beating plantera slows it down to 1/3 its original speed.

It's not an equip per se, but there's calming potion, sunflowers, and peace candles...

Don't forget NPCs.

yeah but it's not really worth building 20 houses in every biome

IIRC you actually only need like 3 or 4 NPCs to stop enemies from spawning altogether, and there are enough that if you wanted to you could spread them throughout a (small) map and drastically reduce the number of spawns. Then just wire up teleporters so you can visit them whenever you want.
