Anyone know if there is a way to unlock fps?
Hello, I have some experience with terraria, (800hrs)

I always get 60 Fps exactly, never anything above 60Fps, and never below 59 Fps :)

On every other game I play I get around 200 Fps-300Fps

Is there a way to unlock terraria's fps?

Not That I'm sure of. But really, to be straight you never really need more than 60.

You can always check youtube or such, But I have looked around for this as well, But to be honest I'd just leave it at 60fps.

You could try and edit the code. I wouldn't do it, it's illegal, you won't get support from Re-Logic if you break stuff and it's very, very hard. But you could unlock the framerate. I'm fairly sure the cap is there for a reason though.

Right. It's just good at 60, If your pc can run it at 60 your good. This game is set at 60 to stay at 60 because it's graphics are perfect there I suspect and Re-logic set it there for a reason.

Right. It's just good at 60, If your pc can run it at 60 your good. This game is set at 60 to stay at 60 because it's graphics are perfect there I suspect and Re-logic set it there for a reason.

Framerate caps are to (Prevent) Computers From overheating/Crashing Mid gameplay.

You only need 60 FPS in most Circumstances, Though 140 FPS would be Better 60 FPS is about ALL you'll need Frame rate caps are best there to Avoid Overheating

On Another note

The Quality of the game controls the FPS

Low = 30 FPS

Medium = 45 FPS

High = 60 FPS

Three year old thread... Also, Terraria is capped/locked at 60 for a reason. Many factors of the game, like spawn rate, weapon swings etc is tied into the frame rate. Going over 60 breaks things. Badly.

No it's not. If your PC overheats from uncapped framerates then you have a problem with your cooling system. Heck, my laptop with a sub-par cooling system stays under 86°C with no throttling.

They even talked about in their last news post that they support the modding community.... so unless there is some official tool for this I haven't heard of, I think you are wrong..

Sheesh and i thought my PC runs hot. (59-60 C for Cpu and 61-64 C for GPU under full load)

I run most games at 60 fps tho.

Guess my PC is a fridge compared to your Laptop
